Dude in the middle looks about as bored as any non-poolplayer would during a conversation about pool.

I don't know. If someone claims to be a baseball player/enthusiast and says the record consecutive game hitting streak in the majors is somewhere around 15 games, you'd have to wonder.PS: Man, I will know have to "test" my baseball buddies from my team and find out if they know the history and stats of all the baseball greats from 1935 to 1941, just to make sure they are really "baseball players" and not just posers. LOL
yeah....LOL. but please don't limit your question to such a narrow range/era.
Ask them how many homers Babe Ruth or Hank Aaron hit.
hint: (they won't miss it by 3 fold)

I wonder if anyone listened all the way through? Adam is GENUINELY knowledgeable about pool. This is a great podcast about pool and should be spread far and wide by all of us who want to see pool grow.
I would say knowledgable academically, but really doesn't know much. It is hard for someone to fool you when they really don't know what they are talking about. There are many "Tells" when they speak.
He said he read "The Inner Game of Tennis". Just knowing about that book and how it can improve one's game signals to me that he has definitely put more effort to learn pool than 90% of pool players.
For the average pool fan, it doesn't matter. But he actually claimed in the interview that he's read "all" books on pool (19:22). For someone who specifically claims to have read every book on pool, I would expect him to come at least close to guessing the number of the most famous record of the game. I wouldn't have thought twice about his flub if he didn't set himself up the way he did. If you're going to act like you know what you're talking about, you actually better know what you're talking about. That's just me.I know guys that play baseball but do NOT follow it or watch it on TV. I'm sure they would have no clue. Who would care. They play the game. that's what matters.
Is there some test you must take to "prove" you are a real fan or not? Is 150 in SP that outrageous, really?
does not compute.
the guy made a damn good living busting bull****
i just didn't expect him to not know about Mosconi.

I hate to tell ya HalfDeadEd, but 99% of the population never heard of Mosconi. 30% HAVE heard of Minnesota Fats. Only 10% of the 'very limited' pool population knows who Mosconi was, or anything about him or his record. More than half know who Minnesota Fats was...even if it's just from The Hustler movie.
