DCC BigFoot Match Updates

not so much a complaint!

But an observation! They went in order from top to bottom with the scheduling. Two matches deviated from this for some reason and the "change" hurt Neils in my opinion!!!

When I logged in an see SVB on the table practicing for hours in preparation for the match and see Neils delayed by his match to the point of delaying the start by 1 hour! You have to understand the pressure on accu-stats and the player Neils to put a product on the screen for the viewers.

The scheduling is my point more then anything. If this was the other way around??? would they do something about it??? Who knows! but, certainly food for thought

This is a good observation, but the Bigfoot is not a primary event at the Derby and neither gets nor deserves priority in scheduling over the three core events that make up the all-around.

There was definitely a disadvantage to Niels here as you suggest, and his play was pretty weak out of the gate in this one but he has played his way into it now and trails just 5-4.

The game is on now!

Wet break. Niels plays safe. SVB sells out. But Niels hooks himself behind 9 and plays safe. SVB reruns safe.

Niels leaves SVB hooked by the edge of the ball, but SVB jumps with full cue and runs out.

6-4

SVB takes something off the break, makes 3 balls but no shot. SVB pushes to a jump, Niels lets SVB shoot and he nails it to run out.

7-4

thank you!

Wet break. SVB has to duck. Niels hit it and sells out. SVB run out.

8-4

Mark Wilson and Danny are great in the booth.

SVB breaks wet with shape on the 1. SVB runs a tough table, recovering from a few positional errors, until he gets too straight on the 9 and misses, double kisses and scratches.

8-5

Niels breaks wet with shape on the one and the 5 ties up the 2 on the last roll.

Niels makes the 1 but hooks himself. Fouls trying to hit the 2 and breaks up the 2-5.

SVB runs out, despite getting funny on the 6.

SVB is making it look hard for a change.

9-5

Wet break. SVB hooks himself on the 3 with paint to see. SVB asks Jay to remove the template and Jay inadvertently moves the 10 to a full hook on the 3. Jay says 10 ball stays where it is.

Niels, to his great credit, moves the ball back to where it was, giving SVB the paint back. SVB plays safe of the paint.

Niels doesn't get safe back and SVB runs out.

10-5 SVB.

Class move by Niels

Weird ruling by Jay.

This is the same way the schedule looked last night when I saw it. It says right on there that Darren and Efren play on "Fri" and Neils and SVB play "Noon Sat". So as far as I can tell they are going by the schedule, plus or minus some delay. What's the issue? Not trying to be combative, just to understand the complaint.

Same here, maybe somebody had the diarrea?

Looks like some delay in start of match between Ko v Buste
Ko playing banks with Shane McMinn now. Little Ko playing Darren

LOL Buste stopped practising on table.
Blank table
Then suddenly Bata appears and start practising. LOL :grin-square:

I never touched the ten ball or the rack! Shane had touched the rack prior to asking me to remove the ten and caused a small wrinkle in the rack. When I stepped to the table the ten rolled off of that. It was strange that it moved on its own but that's what happened. Strange things can and do happen with a "magic" rack (aptly named).

On consideration later, I realize that I should have just agreed to put the ten back where it originally was before it rolled off the rack. It actually had benefited Niels when it moved but he was the one asking me to replace it and not Shane. When Shane moved it back it was not in the original place, but Niels agreed to it.

They both did not play up to par in the match with many errors in the first half (missed balls, poor safeties, scratches and position errors). Shane picked it up in the second half (after going ahead 6-4) but it wasn't an all star performance by any means. They're human after all!

that is me! i am a motor mouth!!! LOL

Thanks for clarifying Jay. It can be hard to see from the feed (and in fairness to me Mark Wilson thought you moved it, so maybe he biased my perception).

I also thought that it was Niels who physically put the 10 ball back, but again you were right there.
