I have a strong feeling that in 10-20 years when you read his posts you will regret what you didn't listen too. Skins please pm me what cues you reccomend. For the rest of you wondering what to collect, your welcome if he lets you in. Let me add that at one point I thought CNC was a negative in a cue until I really thought about it.
 
You are aware that skins designs cues for Keith Josey, aren't you?

Not that it's a bad thing. I love my Keith Josey cue and can't really imagine anything having a better hit...which is a subjective thing, so I'm not going to say everybody should have a Josey.
 
He is a teacher or a professor at a College.

He rights the lines of code or writes the files for Keith Josey's CNC.

Good man my books .
 
He recently designed a one of a kind custom for me that is being built by Josey. Tim is an amazing guy to work with and he has worked with a lot of the top cue makers today.

I always really appreciate and respect people like Skins who have a wealth of knowledge and want to share it with those who are willing to listen. I think I learned more about cues and the industry in the conversation we had tonight than I had acquired on my own since I signed up as a member here. I also feel like I have a new friend. Thank you sir, nothing but greenies for you. Tom
 
He may do some now, but I'm pretty sure Joe Gold did all of his own designs and line coding himself for 20 years. I actually got to watch him do it (form design & write code), and even got to participate on one design! :grin:

Scott, why comment if you don't know when Skins did work with Joe? Oops it's ok you were self promoting. I'm cool with that I've backed you before and enjoyed the lesson myself and Slide took.

Scott,

Since you've been in Joe's shop, having such a intimate relationship, maybe you should call him and ask him... If you need his number I'll be happy to pass it along though I would think you should already have it...

skins...I apologize for my comment. Joe has always been a "I can do it myself" kind of person, and I was under the impression that he did all of his own code and design, from his comments to me. Obviously i'm incorrect here. You've obviously done some great work with several cuemakers.

I was not "self promoting" Shooter08. I based my opinion on 5 years of working with, promoting and selling Joe's cues (1995-2000). Admittedly that's only 5 years out of his 30+ year cuemaking career. Like yourself, any cues that I'm representing/selling, I try to know everything about the cues. In 5 years I never once heard Joe mention anyone else doing design work for him. I did, on several occasions, hear him mention that he had come up with his own designs, and I observed him doing CAD design and writing code himself. In this case, my opinion was incorrect, and I have apologized for my comment about skins. That doesn't make me a bad guy...just apparently misinformed.

Scott,

For the record; I hung out in Joe's shop from 1994 till 1998 three days a week religiously. (We've been very close freinds ever since) During that time I brought him many drawings of designs. Joe took some of them and tranfered them to digital drawings AND created the machine code himself. Though I helped tweak some from time to time he did the majority of the programing. Here's just a few of the designs he used....

Just FYI I started this thread before ever speaking or pm'ing with Skins. He commented on something I posted disagreeing with me and I decided to research it and realized I was incorrect in my line of thinking. After further researching his past posts I took upon myself to give credit where I thought it was deserved. I like to use this forum to learn.
