I just bought a Gandy and I'm going to be replacing the felt to SImonis. I've had the Tournament Blue simonis before and a part of me wants something different. Everybody has rather green or blue simonis though. So I figured we can get some pics on this thread of anyone who has anything other than the those colors. I'm considering Slate Grey but sometimes I think it might be too dull, please show your colors!

I know you said you are looking for colors other than the common green and tournament blue but I can't help myself. I just got my tournament blue 760 in yesterday. Won't be long now and I'll be in heaven.

Maybe this will get the ball rolling.

Personally I prefer the Electric Blue. It is a darker, richer version of Tournament Blue and tends to go well with today's décor.

I keep mine covered so the light doesn't fade the color. It's easy on the eyes. This one has a lot of play already.

You might want to first consider which chalk you want to use. To keep my favorite shafts from turning dark blue with use, I started using gold Master chalk, which I like about as much as traditional blue. A friend talked me into buying some grey Master chalk for the same reason, but I really did not like it at all. More recently, I have been using the sky blue Master which I find to be substantially better than any of the other Master colors. Lighter color chalk streaks on darker cloth do not bother me as much as they bother some players. But dark streaks on Slate Grey or Tan Simonis would be annoying even to me. If you are satisfied with Kamui chalk, which comes in a variety of colors, then your choice may not make much difference. There are other companies that make light colored chalks that might also be very good. But if you intend to stay with the much less expensive Master, the chalk color may in part guide your choice of cloth color.

Always wanted a GC w/ gold cloth. The lighting is bad. So is my photography. The cloth is more gold that it appears to be. Similar to post #3

I would recommend Tournament Blue or Green. I went with a designer color, wine, for the Simonis on my table and regret not covering it in green.

Despite the color of the cloth, for the sake of my shafts, I use grey and brown chalk even at the pool hall where the tables are covered in Tournament Blue.

That is a beautiful looking GC. I do like the cloth.

Jay,

What are all those displays on the shelves and cases? I see a Palmer and a Sardo. That room is perfect for LED's if you decide to change.

Thank you. I had it installed in 1998. It still has the original cushions which have no dead spots and other than some damage to the formica from it's days in a commercial setting, it's a fine table.

My shafts were starting to match the color of the table so I switched chalk. The non-standard colors are certainly attractive, but next time, it will be green.

I would love to have an Anniversary or a Centennial but nothing beats the value of a Gold Crown.

The display cabinets were made when I finished the room back in the nineties for various collectibles.

The Sardo doesn't get much use anymore but the Palmer is out for a reason. I usually have several out to use. I'm not sure why the Meucci is out but it is.

All of the lights are LED's but I recently acquired one of the older style Diamond lights which I plan to install. I am trying to decide whether to convert it to 8' LED tubes or use flat panels inside of it.

That is truly a thing of beauty

Thank you very much Colonel. It's a totally 100% unrestored survivor except for the pocket liners. Unfortunately, it plays and banks like crap since a certain individual didn't set it up...
