I can tell you. It was the Brunswick Recreation pool hall (Joe's), on Boonville Street hill (long since gone). The restroom (the only one in the place) was exactly as you described.
And, I have seen that woman standing near the front door. She was wearing a worn cloth coat and a pillbox hat, and holding a baby. A small child was at her side.
Her face was pale and drawn, and on close inspection one could see a look of desperation as she searched the room.
Whether she found who, or what, she was looking for was never known to me.
