Whether I'm betting on myself or someone else, I try to observe impassively.....
....that way, you have a chance to see what is actually happening.....
...fear and greed and anger and negative feelings obscure your view of reality.

In sports, and to me pool is one, it's fun to see your team (or player, or fighter, etc) execute and perform well and at the same time if the opponent's QB throws an incompletion on a crucial 3rd down or their fullback fumbles, or the guy I don't particularly like dogs a shot, these things can all put a smile on my face.

Perfect. It's a shame because he's super talented but this whinny stuff has to stop. My favorite was when he once complained about SVB wanting the Magic Rack moved. SVB says leave it and he safes DO and leaves him in the rack...then of coarse DO complains about it wanting to move it.
He's blind to his BS. He's a grown man but it amazes me that Jay H hasn't grabbed him by the ears for a little course correction.

Yes there are players I consistently root against. I prefer not to name them. However the consistent pattern for me is that they are just crappy people in general, not just in pool. I'm trying hard to become a better person myself though, and let go of this sort of mentality. Love thy neighbor. Sounds simple, possibly one of the hardest things in some cases.

I bet against and actively dislike Bobby Emmons. Never met the dude and do not want to. He is a good player, but he strikes me as an equal opportunity scavanger... a vulture. No law against it, but.... well.... you know. There are a few players in my area that are SUPER skilled money players and it just seems like they won't come out into the big bad world unless their opponent is clueless to their speed or they can get the nuts in weight.
Not to say Bobby is a shameless nitt like myself, but he likes to slap hapless chicklets around a bit much for my taste. Though he did step to Efren Reyes and went right the hell at him in a glorious fireball of supersonic snakebitegeddon. It was superb.
