How does your cue hit???

British snooker cues hit a tonne.

Mine are long tonne 2240......I can do 2000 that's my street Reggie taper.....mostly for the sheep.

If an x wing banged a tie fighter.....and they had a wooden baby.

That's my cue....the Jenny. Who's still in the er right now

Dr keeb got this though

Describing a cue's hit without at least mentioning the type tip & hardness is misleading........
there's a lot of other technical considerations but the tip is the most conspicuous variable
to understanding anyone's answer and sans that info, it's pretty much is anyone's guess.

It has more to do with the taper on my cues. But honestly I can see why most abide by the tip thing......generally speaking everyone's taper is very similar......southwest dpk are oddities.....

I'm crazy so you know.....I make crazy chit

It plays with a very driving rigid hit with a compacted feedback to the hand. Plays as true as that revo if not better, but I only had 3 days with the revo. The shafts also ld as well of solid design no laminations or foam chit....12mm

Triangle, lepro and I tried a kamui med clear didn't make a diff. The tone either muffed or heightened is about all that I ever noticed to be honest.

Maybe one day I'll make one for the board legends at a minimum to try out.

Till then I'll probably just be full of chit

This is also why I find it laughable how so many bangers just go buy something cuz it's pretty. They know jack about their game, the game itself....and nada about a cue......

Then say oh "x" cuemakers cues are bunk......

May as well blind mail order brides hoping to chit out and not get one who can eat corn through a picket fence

They all believe bob meucci anyways. I'd like to strap him to a drill pipe and throw him overboard to be honest....

I have cues that hit soft, I have a sneaky that goes from soft to hard depending on which shaft I play with, and I have a old school josswest that is in between.

Shaft taper, ferrule, and tip can make a huge difference in how a cue hits.

Buttsleeve was cracked in half that cream plastic junk. Replaced with a spare black I had. Not sure if I'll put the original cap back on.

I may and draw an line though the logo and write better now under it. Took pin out as well. Handle and forearm were shockingly straight it warped at the connection.

How does your cue hit??? If we get enough responses maybe this could be stickied!!
For all the players not fortunate to be able to try other cues for whatever reason. But would like to know how a cue hits before they spend money on something totally wrong for them. Please keep it generalized as I know the tip can make a change as well as other customization.

I will start with the few cues I know well.

McDermott G series with G core shafts 3/8 10 pin implex collar wood to wood. They are a soft muted feeling hit with a slight thud sound.

Schon cues with 5/16 14 pin in stainless with a Schon shaft. They have a very hard
solid hit. Very easy to feel through the hand. The sound is like clinking glasses.

Dufferin cues with 5/16 8 pins have a solid and slightly muted feel to them.

Predator Roadline with a Uni-loc pin and a 314-2 shaft. It to me has a medium hit with a medium feel through the hand. It has muted click sound.

Please add your thoughts on more cues. Jacoby,Joss, Mezz, Viking, Pechauer and all the others. Let's help other players that don't get a chance to try other cues.

Well personally I think I would put meucci some where in the top 5 .
I have always like Jacoby and have met Dave a couple times , super nice person..
I have always liked a Pechauer too .

Like the old Mali's and McDermott's , but I repaired a McDermott not to long ago .
The handle and but sleeve was plastic and it had a 8.5 weight bolt in it .
Most people speak highly of a Mezz and Schon.

hard to beat a production cue whos name means beautiful

While a particular brand of cue might have a particular sound to one person, it may sound different to another.

I think tip, ferrule, taper, wood, and construction of shaft all share a part in how a cue "sounds".

Over the years I have trained myself to ignore most of the things that are subjective like sound, feel and looks while concentrating on how the cue performs. By using a couple of signature shots, within a few minutes I can determine the amount of adjustment that has to be made for a particular cue when applying side spin.

I think sounds of cues hitting the cue ball are fine and there are some sounds that are more pleasing to the ear than others and it's pretty cool to hear people describe the different sounds of their cues but I prefer to distinguish for myself how a cue performs, not how it looks, feels or sounds.

P.S. My Performance Cue is a stiff hitting, low deflection, DW cue with a very long straight taper, with a custom ferrule and medium Moori tip and it hits just fine. Since I have a slight hearing impediment, I hesitate to tell you what it sounds like but it probably sounds "harsh". Lol
