We are europe

A crowd as big as this? We are bound to see many different reactions.

It is ok, that is what makes the azb The AZB.

I read the op's (who, btw, is a very good guy) post to be some good-natured crowing over his Euro Team getting a great start on Team USA. They have a lot to be proud of.

Am I the only one that sees some of the responses as way overboard?

Nothing wrong with cheering on the home team - And being a good sport. ;)

I haven't given up on my team...

USA USA USA

best,
brian kc

It comes down to one thing...

In my opinion.... cohesion is the word of the day (yesterday)

I saw it in the entrance of both teams. If you watch the teams walk out, USA first and then Europe. You see team USA all cluttered in their body english. They get to the seats and they do what I can best describe as "gaggle"

Then watch Europe walk out. They're practically marching. Lots of smiles, waves etc. They get to their respective spot and they just look like it's time to do business. And they look much more like a team. Dare I say..... cohesive?

That set the pace for the day, possibly the cup in my eyes.

I agree with Brian, there need be no vitriolic comments spewed around the forum just because one of our members is proud of his team. I know I'm proud of mine.
So in a spirit of good-natured sportsmanship and brotherhood, I say screw the dirty rotten bastard and may he burn in hell for 10,000 years, or until Team USA wins the cup. Whichever comes first.

Mike dechaine wouldn't have beaten me last night in the league!

Please don't drag us into your quagmire of mass shootings and migrant camps can't you see we're trying to watch the hockey game here geez .

Lol good one. I was referring to maybe including Alex P or even Morra, other than those two no other player up north even qualifies...Sorry bud. Then again Alex is from PI. Anyways the team we have now is a MONSTER team who can still win. NEVER count out USA. HOCKEY WTF is HOCKEY. I didn't even know people still played hockey geez .

There is no reason why Canada should not be part of team USA/America, is Canada not a
bordering country just like all the countries in Europe? So team Europe can all play together but Canada can not? Weird.....

I'm not sure Canada could get into team USA for geographical reasons...

Fair point, and I haven't seen much of Morris in his prime... I still think Shaw has the technique/fundamentals to old up better, but agree on their approach.

In Mosconi Cup terms, I'd say Shaw is more comparable to svb. Shot makers, not team players. Based on what I've seen so far, I'd leave Shaw out next year.

Shaw knows plenty about team pool. I first met him at the 2002 world championships where he was playing for Scotland youth team. His dad Charlie is a great pal of mine and played for Scotland for decades.

Most pool in the uk is team based anyway. Shaw knows more about team pool than the entire USA team put together.

The misconi cup? Nothin at all mind. He will learn..

Yes, Brexit should change the complexion of the Mosconi Cup, I would think!..Maybe a completely new order of competition should be considered?..For the last several years, it has been heavily loaded against the U.S.!..Perhaps a radical change should be put in place.

Europe has always had a lot of different countries to draw talent from..How about making the
MC a true 'world' competition?..It would require some tinkering, but I envision it something like this!..Matchroom could still be the organizer, but with 3 or 4 different groups of countries competing, somewhat regional in scope!

For example..(A) Europe, and all its existing countries as one group..(B) All of Great Britain and Canada as another..(C) U.S. and all of the So. American countries as another..And (D) Asia, Japan, and the Philipines as another!..This may be turn out to be a little too heavily loaded (talent wise) in favor of group 'D'!..However, adjustments could be made to level the playing field.

It is certainly something worth considering..Times have changed drastically, and it is no longer a fair arrangement..Nor has the MC ever been a true 'world' competition..What say you all?

PS..If we want to keep calling our fall baseball classic the "World Series", sooner or later we are going to have to let the rest of the world in on it, right?

I would love to see that happen!

the secret is making earl and joe rogan co-captains.

mark wilson can't even get his own horse to tuck his shirt in.

i know rogan is a stretch, but earl is a no-brainer. (interpret as you like.)

at the very least, he'd be the spoonful of sugar to help the medicine (slaughter) go down.

i can't understand why they would invest the time and money into that documentary and then scrap earl.

Earl scrapped Earl. He's always been his own worst enemy

The guy would probably take the job for a thousand bucks, a new vest, and a pair of 3d goggles.

This whole thing is, first and foremost, an entertainment production, stemming from a business venture.

If I'm a producer and I have half a brain in my head, I know earl is the best thing the us has going for them production-wise. I also know that earl showing-up is the best way to get Shane to show-up.

Other than adding copious amounts of sex or gratuitous violence, I don't see how matchroom could better increase revenue in a single move.

Maybe they're waiting for rock-bottom to play that card?
