Pattern Racking 9-Ball With Soft Breaking Video

Are you using a racking template? The racks need to be tight to get a consistent break. (More accurately the racks need to be consistent, but the best way to get consistent gaps is to have all zero gaps.)

That answer right there backs up my statement about using racking aids. Poster said no matter how he broke the rack....he couldn't get the balls to pocket or spread like everyone else was doing.....so right away to help this person with his break, the first question he was asked was....DO YOU HAVE A RACKING AID?

The ONLY players you'll ever hear from that can beat the 9 ball ghost without a racking aid in a race to 10....no cue ball in hand to start.....is right here on AZB....because everyone knows, the best players in the world are right here....running 10, 15...20 racks In a row....LMAO

Now you're just making s&!^ up? How do you get through life?

Why does everyone keep blaming the game for being broken or flawed? Before all the rule changes, before all the racking aids, before the jump cues, before pool leagues players, before shorter races, before ball in hand, before racking the 9 on the spot, before break boxes, before X amount of balls past the side pockets on the break, and before the push to play 10 ball instead.....9 ball was a great game played by the greatest players alive, or dead for that matter! So, the real question NOT being answered....is what changed about the game of 9 ball?

Agree^^^^^^

"random racking" is a stupid rule

Random placement of the balls in the rack is a stupid rule because it is unenforceable. Everybody that racks over a hundred times a week is well capable of picking up and tossing the balls in a rack to suit them with almost every ball where they want it if not every ball. Many places interpret "random" to be however the racker wants too.

I think the only solution is pattern racking, one pattern and the mirror image of it so right or left handers don't have an advantage. No other legal racking orders in sanctioned events. Of course when giving a spot people would designate a rack that wasn't an advantage to the one getting a spot.

Let me get this straight. You pony up a dime to enter a tournament where these rules are disseminated well in advance & you aren't aware of them? Ooooooooooookayyyyyyy

I played in the open just to say I played in the US Open. My goal was to not go 2 and out. I knew I had no chance up against the best in the world. I did however win my first match 11-6 and then lost the next 2 matches. I had no idea they changed the rack position to eliminate making the wing ball every time. Either way my outcome more than likely would have been the same.

I guess you missed out on the threads where everyone chimed in with how many racks in a row they've ran or seen ran in 9 ball. I think the smallest package was a 5 pack, which is more realistic than a 10 pack on any given Sunday, let alone the claims to 15, 20 and more consecutive racks ran. And let's not forget the witness to a player running 7 and out...against 3 opponents in a row for a 21 pack....LOL ALL the Pros in the world today are just lucky these players that can run 10 packs like it's no challenge only play on AZB....or the Pros of the world today my not make a dime.....LMAO

Thank you for taking the time to make and share this video. I wouldn't call this a "soft" break though, not like a Corey deuel soft break. Regardless, I look forward to experiment with this tomorrow. I also like how you used paper savers as a magic rack, you'd think all table spots would be a more rugged kind of doughnut, instead of the normal ones that always become warn out in irregular places, making it such a pin to get the head all to sit still...usually in the wrong spot

There was a product called Slug Doctor that made a template to place the hole reinforcements. Without it it is very difficult to place the holes in the right position because of the size of the holes.

Guess you missed the part where everybody said these are LIFETIME HIGH RUNS!

Nobody is claiming to be able to do this on demand or maybe ever again.

I've done 7 racks 3 times and doubt I will ever get a 3 or 4 pack again in my life. Actually I had a 3pack the other day on a diamond BB - I rarely play anymore and was waiting on somebody to sell some cues.

Aren't they ALWAYS the lifetime high pack runs:rolleyes:.....right along with "when I was younger, I played a lot better than I do today"....only, the person saying that.....still can't back the cue ball up 2 feet....ROTFLMAO

Whenever you are in my area I'd be more than happy to bet some.

I'm sure you would, I'll bet a $1,000 you can't beat the 9 ball ghost in a race to 10 with no racking aids or ball in hand to start....you in?

How many people can beat the ghost without ball in hand? That is very strong I think. It is essentially over 50% break and run. I remember reading that in the 90's Earl was around 35% and was the highest. Setting a pretty high standard don't you think?

Not for some of the AZB members, from what I've read about their high package runs.....they could SPOT the GHOST 5 games on the wire and still win....LMAO

Happy bday, you olde fart.

I believe pov pool has more than a few vids of people beating the 10b ghost on the tight hard times tables. Triangle rack.

I also believe none of them are azb members.

Exactly - HIGH RUN!

Whats so hard to understand about a high run?

Let's go the other way then - I have missed with BIH, and since you claim that I can run 7 racks all the time(at least you are implying I say I can) and want to bet on it.
Then couldn't you also say that I can't even make a ball with BIH? I mean, I missed with BIH more times than ive run 7 racks. So, I will bet I CAN make a ball with BIH.

Do you see how stupid this is? Nevermind, I'm sure you don't
Jason

Another thing RKC in one of my previous post I said I CANNOT beat the no BIH ghost.

I doubt I could beat the ghost on a BB with BIH right now. I have beat it 10 to 1 on a Valley, got careless on a 7ball and hung it up in the 8th rack or it would have been 10 to 0
