Back around the early 70's I saw an exhibition at an Oakland, CA pool room with Cicero Murphy, Luther Lassiter, Joe Balsis, and I think one other player whose name escapes me. These guys were all unbelievable. To warm up they were playing 1pocket and would basically just take turns running eight-and-out over and over. It was fascinating and pretty sick.

I implore you to acquire the book and get your own opinion as opposed to listening to nay-sayers or to those "educated" on my grandfather life.
Additionally, after reviewing some of the posts here on this thread, I can say it is a breathe of fresh air to know my grandfather has sparked your interest over the years and you will definitely enjoy the literary piece.
P.S.... the Murphnetti Tote Bag was a part of those whom pre-order the book. The certified copy is an autographed copy with the corporate seal affixed. Actually from what I know about Cicero my first thought to portray him is idris Elba.
He was of deep character and serious demeanor, to which Elba portrays very well in his acting.
But I’d go with what ever opinion blackjack has on it personally lol

The $15 price is for the e-book version. The base price for the print copy is $25. The book is only in softback print.

He was peddling copies at the MC. I overpaid for one, out of my admiration for Cisero. So did Bob Jewett. Haven't had time to read it yet, but it is very thin, only 96 pages. Oh well, it's only money.
P.S. I may have known Cisero better than his grandson.
I spent a lot of time around him at tournaments and poolrooms. I will say this. He was not only a great player, but a damn good man! He spent most of his adult life working for the New York Parks and Recreation bringing Pool to a segment of the community that otherwise couldn't afford it.

The person that used to post on here was most likely a fraud, sorry to say!! My grandfather has been deceased since "96"... However, yes I am the 1st born grandchild of the real Cisero S. Murphy.

Yes, BlackJack was my grandfather Mentee and is in the biography book. Most likely, Dave is busy handling his business(es) not to mention life. I am sure he will comment when he get a chance.
