Amazing "Searing" on Ebay

Who actually made those cues?

They were an import deal distributed by Harold Miller and Steve Mizerak. They were made by Kao-Kao as far as I can establish. Harold miller had a relationship with that factory.

I have copies of some of the patents and trademarks as well as some newspaper articles from that time about these dealings.

Harold Miller was the former sales manager for Adam cues, worked for them for many years. He is also the guy that created and imported the Cobra brand cues. He is mentioned in the Blue Book. https://bluebookofpoolcuevalues.com/Pool_Cue_Values/Pool_Cue_Manufacturer.aspx?id=AXIOM_CUES

The Cobra Professional and Mizerak Professional cues were the better cues, not the ones sold through department stores. The cue for sale in the Ebay ad originally sold for $460 in 1991 (MSRP) with two shafts, that would be about $861 today.

Using my "used stuff" calculation I spoke about elsewhere (20% off MSRP or full retail, divided by two) , that puts this cue at about $184 in excellent condition. Since I follow these cues, I can tell you that's in the ball park for what they actually sell for. But it is missing a shaft. So I would put it at about $150. And it would probably draw that, maybe even better on Ebay.

I have commented on these cues before in several threads.

I am still looking for a Cobra Professional brochure or catalog. I spoke to the nephew of Harold Miller and he had already tossed all the old sales materials several years ago.

Here is one thread about one of the cues: https://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=428379

I already have the model for sale in the Ebay ad.

This is Harold Miller.

And THIS, folks, is just one of the many reasons ChopDoc is a priceless asset here on AzB. And also explains why Mike Howerton has him on what's rumored to be, a HEALTHY retainer. You go, Doc! :yeah:

I have some cues to sell you.

One of them is a prototype Budweiser made by Gus.

I'll take $3,000 any day, but for you...$2500 today, just cause you are such a cool dude.

Doc - I know this is a strange question in this day and age, but... do you take cash?

If it's this one, Doc, I've been looking for this for 20+ years. I WANT IT. I'll even go 2*7*00.00 for it!!! CASH!!!

Not cool to trash on my sale dude.

You're just jealous because you don have one.;)

I had one of those. I left it in my car one time . I forgot my doors were unlocked.
When I came back, there were two of them.

That would probably make for a good hustler cue.
Core the whole thing with purpleheart and replace the shaft.
