Finally had a chance to hit some balls with Shane's cuetec CF (carbon fiber) last night and was really impressed with how it played, it felt solid, I liked the thin white ferrule and it didn't make the tink sound like my Revo 12.9 does.
After playing with the same George cue w/universal brand LD shaft for the past 15 years or so, I've been looking for a new shooter. Started out with the Becue Prime pro taper w/white painted shaft which I liked but I prefer not to use a glove so like others had issues with the stickiness after a while. I did play better with the Becue and traced it back to the benefits for me of using an open bridge more, which was necessary with the sticky shaft. I have the new Becue Prime M on order, which has been backordered due to an issue with the titanium supplier who provides the joint material. Overall, I really like the Becue concept and am looking forward to the new "M" version.
In May I won some money in Vegas at VNEA (slots not pool

) and picked up a 12.9 Predator Revo, it has been my main player since then. Plays great, solid hit and very low deflection. Personally I'm not a fan of the sound the cue makes when striking the cueball and overall I don't seem to have the "feel" with the cue I've had with some others. But hey, just won a small casino bar box tourney with it this past weekend, which is one of my better finishes over the past couple years. Overall, I like do like it.
Last night I had a chance to play with Shane's Cuetec CF and player cue setup, no extension, and was really impressed with the hit. It was very easy for me to adjust to and within a few shots I wasn't even thinking about the cue any longer. To me it felt solid and I didn't noticed the "tink" I get with the Revo. It also seemed to have good feedback. In comparison, for my preferences the feedback was better than the Becue original which is the most solid hitting cue I've ever played with, almost too solid hitting where it feels a bit dead. One other thing I noticed was the carbon fiber design on the Cuetec seemed perfectly symmetrical in design as opposed to my early Revo which has quite a few blotchy spots. I also tried the new Cuetec jump cue and was impressed, very very light weight. I shot 5 shots jumping over a full ball at a distance of one ball with 4 good hits, pocketing 3, which is better than I typically do with my current Predator Air II. Overall, I'm highly impressed with the new CF Cuetec line and in my opinion if someone is in the market for a new shaft or cue the new Cuetec might be waiting another 6 weeks for.
