Who remember this Gold Grown Accessory

Morgan set complete...
Silver Member
I remember working a room in the early 80's that had about 12-14 sets of connected Gold Crown Chairs, all with these in the center. This room was straight out of a BBC catalog with the floor canister ashtrays, and garbage cans and the wall hanging water filled ashtrays that quite frankly, were disgusting as hell to empty....

Yep, that fit on the specially designed (made by Brunswick) tables with a high chair attached on each end. The table had an opening in the middle that this piece fit into. I had a bunch of them in my first pool room.

The room I grew up playing in had these at every table. A chair on each side.

The chairs on each side of those cup holders and ashtrays were sort of a yellow color, matched the legs of the Brunswick Gold Crowns of the time.

All the best,
WW

My friend has three sets of the chairs with these in between, painted in metallic blue show car paint. He wants them out and will part with them for $200 a set, I wish I had the room for them

Funny you say that... If I ever had a room I would want traditional GC's with Pearl White Metallic bases, and candy apple red / candy apple blue table sides.. high polish chrome legs and rail trim, these seats to match the tables..

The only problem with these chair/table sets is they had a tendency to come apart with constant use, like in a poolroom. I had to check all of mine on a daily basis to see which ones had loose screws in them. If I didn't do that, pretty soon the chairs would start to wobble and pull loose from the center section. Then the whole thing would soon be in pieces for me to put back together. The entire apparatus was fairly fragile.

The room I play in has a few of these antiques along with the original brunswick wall cue racks. They aren't in great shape, but they're cool.

Those sets look to be the same as those used in bowling alleys that had Brunswick equipment. Might be a source for those looking for some.
