Jason Hunt- lol

Yep. He's been barred from poolhalls everywhere he moves to, it's only a matter of time.

After a while, you should realize that it's not *them*...it's *you*.

There is an old saying, goes something like this....

If you run into an asshole in the morning, well bad luck, you ran into an asshole.
If you run into assholes all day long, YOU are the asshole.

haha hate the guy all you want but he wins open monthly tourneys and plays strong.

The kid plays good. He also happens to be one of the most disrespectful and delusional people out there. No one gets a free pass on his type of behavior just because they can draw their cue ball.

I always hear all these horror stories about Jason and yet he has always been respectful toward me. I guess I just haven't been there when he's going off. I know he wouldn't and didn't do that in my poolroom. Maybe he knew that if he did he would be out of there in a flash.

He has told me some fantastico stories about his exploits and endeavors, most of which I totally zone out on because they all sound like bad beat stories. There was one time in Reno where he was getting a little out of line talking to someone at one of my tournaments and I told him to calm down and he did. I don't like to give second warnings.

paraphrasing The Cincinnatti Kid?

The bangers think he's a pro.

The pros think he's a banger.

True of a whole lotta us.

Paraphrasing Steve McQueen in The Cincinnati Kid?

We used to have huge family gatherings, 100-200 people. It wasn't uncommon for somebody to mention pool and then some of my cousins would say I was a pool player. I could be sure that an aunt or great aunt would then ask if I was a hustler. I would bend Steve's lines a bit then myself. "The suckers think I am a hustler, the hustlers think I am a sucker."

I'm convinced that the answer to everything in life, is summed up in one cliche or another.

Mental illness when fueled with alcohol is usually very ugly. If you ever viewed his YouTube rants....that’s probably the conclusion any sane adult would find. He really needs help....

Just got this report from one of my closest friends that he got unceremoniously thrust into the middle of the other nights fiasco. He was sitting watching Jason and JT play and Jason ran his mouth and BT had had enough. BT and Jason ended up in my buddies lap with their physical confrontation and my buddy "helped" Jason to the door. He said BT took about as much as you could expect before he had enough. My buddy also made the same observation that many others have made over the years. " Man that Jason plays really well but what a knucklehead."

I think Jason gets a bad rap. He is the type of guy that speaks his mind regardless of who is going to get pissed off or offended by it. He's honest and straight up and I can respect that in a person. With that being said, he's not very smart, very delusional, and fairly arrogant.

Based on the above, many people are annoyed by him, hate him, and make him out to be a horrible person that you shouldn't associate with. I find that to be unfair.

He plays pool for a living, is wild, and a little crazy. That's it. Sure, he's no outstanding citizen but what would you expect from someone who plays pool for a living? He's not out to stiff you on a bet, rob you, or dump matches. He's not a dangerous person or anyone to worry about. He's just another crazy character at the pool hall who is generous with his money and likes to gamble. No big deal.

I always hear bad things about him and it's always "my friend said this happened..." or something very stupid and obviously one sided with missing info. If there is more to this guy I would love to hear about it but it seems to me that he just gets a bad rap for speaking his crazy mind.

Spend some time with him. If you still think he gets a bad rap, adopt him.

Number 1, Jason doesn’t get a bad rap. He’s earned it all.

Number 2, I understand where you’re coming from. Jason has beaten me and I’ve beat him. He has never stiffed me, robbed me, or the like. Jason needs to shut his f—king mouth. He’s the most irritating person I’ve ever met. I don’t think I’ll ever play him again unless it’s in a tournament.

He kinda does, and doesn't. If he played like Earl, everyone would love him, and make excuses for the way he acts, and we would invite him to action matches, etc.. All about perspective.
