I believe good players don't have any problem posting their real name or making their identity easily known.

the trolls
not so much
I'm not all that up on technology and security does and don'ts.
I honestly dont know "all" the risks of just putting a name on AZB.
Thing is, people put their real names, where they went to school, where they work, who their married to, pics of their kids....etc...etc...etc.. on FB. What's the difference in FB and AZB?
Again, I'm a pool player and retired and have extremely little experience with internet/security issues.
As you said, just like I did, there are "some" on AZB....(in all honesty, very few, IMO) that mouth off about their "skill level" but aren't willing to prove it online or in person. They are "a small part" of why I started this thread.
Another "small part" of why I started this thread is all the advice given in lieu of a "real coach"...... I see all kinds of really, really bad advice given to newbs from people that need lessons themselves on how to "hold" a cue.
On the other hand, I read all sorts of "physics class room" chit on here that mean VERY LITTLE to the average PRO....much less the average amateur player.
I'm not ever gonna say that any one person or everyone in general "has to come out" but, it sure would be nice if:
Your gonna woof....... or ...... give advice
To know who you are.
