I'd be astonished if the 14.1 event is not postponed to coincide with the reschedule date of the International.
I got email from Peter Burrows that the American 14.1 is postponed into 2021. I posted about that in the sticky thread on cancellations/postponements:

$1470 for 10 days. Deluxe room with two queen size beds. I only payed for one night up front. Fully refundable until one day before check in.
Sounds like the normal rate. I'm surprised they didn't lower it any to try to get more business.
I tried it with the group discount but that seems not to work right now. You might want to check in September or so to see if it can get you a reduction.
I see that the $1470 includes taxes and resort fees.

So do you think of the thousands of trade shows around the world in the last 6 months that were cancelled, that the hotel still got their "promised" cut of room reservations, exhibitor fees, promoter payment, etc, etc? I really don't know the ins and outs of the convention business, but I'd bet that contracts have "act of god" type clauses in them that let either party out.
Well that is the normal price of staying at the DCC for all 10 days. Maybe its 10% less when the DCC discount works. Hundreds of people do it every year for the past 23 years, either for all 10 days, or portions of it. Some get room-mates, some go it alone.
That CC guy takes pride in his epic cheapness. I'd expect no less. I'd love to go again but not until we get the green-light on the 'rona deal.

Caesars Entertainment and Eldorado Resorts just completed a recent merger, creating the largest casino and entertainment company in the U.S. But under the deal, Caesars Southern Indiana and two other casinos in Evansville and Hammond will be sold to meet state gaming commission stipulations for the sale.
Specifically, state officials want to ensure that Eldorado doesn't own too many casinos in Indiana. Eldorado will keep the two Indianapolis area casinos it just bought from Caesars: Hoosier Park in Anderson and Indiana Grand in Shelbyville.

You can write off just about anything this year in the United States. It looks like the virus won out over the politicians here. Our national response and premature re-openings have set us back to the beginning again, with the numbers infected at an all time high currently.
IMO 2020 is a lost year! With all the ongoing division on how to handle this crises, I suspect only a real vaccine will put an end to the Pandemic. The small sliver of good news is that the best scientific minds worldwide are on a fast track to develop one, with some promising results already. Even when we have a vaccine that works, it may take months to roll out the millions of doses necessary to combat it. The Big Pharma will want to control all that I guarantee you!
As for me I won't be planning on attending anything, let alone a pool tournament, until the coast is clear. My best case scenario is that perhaps early next year, say March or April we will start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. That would make it about one year from the start of the pandemic here to the end, a fairly quick timetable considering how wide spread it is. Once again, that's just a guess as no one knows for sure what the future will bring. In reality I'm being somewhat optimistic based on where we're at right now. I put my faith in the genius of the science and medical community and not the government.

I am from SW Indiana and the small town next to my hometown has a big beer garden festival in mid june that will typically have around 500 people. They postponed it until mid september but had to cancel it a few days ago because of Indiana social distancing guidelines.
Indiana had been on a down swing for new cases but that has changed in the past week or two. I personally know over a dozen different people that are either in Florida or have been and surely that's one of the main reasons for the spike plus lots of amateur sports events have been going on. Rural areas where I'm from have been seeing a rise in new cases but deaths have been very low statewide.

That’s scary. Too many people in a relatively small area and you don’t know where they have been and who they have socialized with. That is not where I want to be.
I think we will have better direction after schools re-open in September. If that doesn't cause death rates to increase like crazy, then I predict everything will re-open in time.
