Fixing the game of 9 ball.

An activity can be considered a sport if it involves ...
  • Competition between two or more individuals or teams;
  • Rules of play that allow a winner to be determined;
  • A primary goal of victory;
  • Victory determined by the relative physical ability of the competitors, although strategy and chance may also play a role.

Under this definition, war is a sport !

I dunno. The last time we saw you accomplish anything on this board it involved some missing rails that remains unexplained. Other than that I don't see where you have accomplished anything in your quixotic multi-faceted quest to fix pool in strange ways.
To bad you're NOT in the KNOW!!

I'm going to do you a favor, and let you read something just to show you, you don't know a damn thing about me, ok!!!

Glen,
It was a pleasure talking with you on Friday. The concept sounds fantastic, and I think it is one of the few opportunities left in the sports realm that can still be optimized from the ground-up for commercial, entertainment and participant success.

BMG will be happy to participate in this process and welcome further discussion. Our production services can support developing a production plan and any execution support you may need.

It seems the initial priority is your planned tournament in October. Feel free to email me with further questions.

Best,
Dave

And the follow you, again to show you, you have NO idea what I've been up to!!!!

Glen,
Hope all is well. We have had an internal discussion and think we'd like to come up with a proposal for you for the tournament in October.

Can you let me know how many hours of live streaming will occur and should we assume all those hours should be achieved (stored for later viewing) for VOD service?

Dave

My answer!!!!

360 hours live, plus an additional 20 minutes per match, X 120 matches for advertising/break totaling an additional 40 hours. 400 hours in total.
8 simultaneously streamed matches @ 3hrs 20 minutes per match

War is definitely a sport. It's the purest sport of them all, and the Olympic Games of ancient Greece focused on the athletic skills that translated well to the waging of war.

Name one board game considered a sport?
Here's a summary:
-You said pool is a sport.
-I said I don't consider it a sport.
-People defended it's status as a sport based on specific definitions.
-I claimed Jenga was a sport if we used those same definitions.
-You compared Jenga to Monopoly.

***For clarification. I don't consider pool, golf, bowling, darts, poker, drone racing, juggling, hot dog eating, Jenga, monopoly, etc "sports". Regardless of it having been on a sports network, or if it technically meets the dictionary definition.
Being a "professional", or an "athlete", don't change anything about what I consider as a sport. I believe someone could be a highly paid professional pool player, and it's still not a sport. We can all get pool jerseys and workout programs, but we're still just enjoying a hobby.

I consider any competition that involves skill ( hand or foot to eye coordination required, at least ) as sport. The participants do not have to be athletes .
Pool is a sport. Snooker is a sport . Corn hole throwing is a sport . Bowling is a sport .
Poker and chess are not . Scrabble is not . Monopoly is not . They are leisure games .

Fishing is a sport and not just an outdoor activity. A sport is something that requires skill, physical exertion, and is competitive. The act of fishing falls under all of these requirements and there are many tournaments and competitions throughout the world. So the main answer is yes

Opinions are just that, but Opinions don't make or change the facts.

Sounds as promising as David Hogg's pillow company.

You don't have to put me in the picture. I don't even play pool, I'm a billiards player. I'm just here for the entertainment.

Do you consider "dropping a line over into the lake waters and coming back in a couple of hours to see if a fish has taken your bait" a sport? That IS an act of fishing !!

It takes no mental energy, no physical exertion, and is definitely not competitive in any sense of the word.

Don't ask me, I just quoted the explanation! Take it up with Google search.

Was your question in requards to a competition fishing derby, or just plain old slip sinker fishing with floating power bait....because there IS a difference, if you're not looking to just argue.
