WORLD POOL CHAMPIONSHIP (6-10 June2021) Champion $50K

Oli collects himself after a poor safety by Omar to close it back up to 9-8. Who's nerves will hang on over the last couple games??

Fedor and Alex question the safety by Oli, but that is how he beat SVB. Not confident in the shot, play safe and hope for a better result. Results in an Omar scratch and wide open table for Oli. Proves to be the right call.

Omar over Oliver. Albin won't be so forgiving, but I'm pulling for the underdog!

Omar table run finishes it off. Competitive, but shaky match at best. Albin has to feel good about the finals, but anything can happen.

Wow, I obviously counted Omar out too soon. Great comeback and I'll be rooting for him in the finals.

Oli's dream run ends and hands over role of potential giantkiller to Omar. 30 Fargo points separate Omar and Albin. Could be biggest difference between favorite and underdog in a major final in a long time :ROFLMAO:

It’s funny to see how often people call professional pool a breaking contest (whether template or referee racking) but no matches are getting run out 11-0. The tale of the tape keeps showing over and over that low potting % will kick you out eventually. And once the field gets real tight, safety errors are pretty much always the determining factor. Break and run % hasnt’t been indicative of much from the periodic glances I’ve made. This last match felt like it supports that notion.

The U.S. Open has now been scheduled only two weeks before the International 9-Ball Open, also on the East Coast. This could be an attempt by Matchroom to undermine the event or be useful in bringing more players to the area to compete in both events. The jury is out.

it's a month between them, but on the upside you have plenty of time to find other things MR to complain about. 😉
