I’ve been on AZ for years and this is the fastest I’ve ever seen a thread grow. At the end of the day “If it bleeds, it leads” can be applied in varying contexts to most media. Controversy results in eyeballs on pages and in this case, I’ll bet that it will also result in increased ticket sales and PPV buys.

We’ll never know the discussions that happened prior to this announcement but does that matter? The goal was reactions and discussions leading to folks opening their wallets - love Earl or hate Earl, he’s still the only player this polarizing.

Really, cherry picking that Earl is top 8 in the country? I don't know if Decahine wanted to go, or if anyone wants to play with him. If SVB didn't want to play with Earl, we'd know about it.

Now, was it a Sentimental favorite pick? Absolutely. Rewarding what many consider the best 9 ball player than ever lived and has won the most world Championships of any current playing pool player, or his record 5 US Open wins (tied with SVB).

Yes, how dare they actually reward someone for being a champion. Yes, you are correct, they should have just tossed this HOF ass aside like yesterday's garbage. One mediocre, professional baseball player, with just 10 years under his belt, makes more in his pension that all our current HOF players make combined. Sad, huh?

I’m so excited for the MC this year. I didn’t even watch last year, and still haven’t. I don’t think that’s happened since I started playing pool in like ‘15-16

I’m not sure who else is going to be on the team but I feel like the US has a better chance with earl on the team than not.

And ooo yes we all know dark chocolate is the way to go. I’ve been eating that 72% cacao ghirardelli** and omg it gives you a buzz. A love buzz Kurt Cobain may have called it. I can make good dark chocolate but not like that stuff

Consider it done. Be nice if some of the hateful SOB's could tone it done on Earl, not the best way to treat a HOF, senior citizen with bonafide issues. I mean, they don't have to like the pick, but the hatefulness if fuking unbelievable.

NFL guy fights dogs and then drowns them afterward, goes to prison, but still gets to play football for millions when he got out, But, Earl gets way too emotional during a match and he's basically considered Hitler reincarnated. Damn.

Even the haters are gonna be watching. Remember Howard Stern, his NY ratings were through the roof. The number crunchers said the average Howard Stern fan listened for nearly 2 hours per day. The folks that hated Howard listened for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Of course, they Radio manager asked if they hate him why are they listening? The answer was " they wanted to hear what he said next".

Stern was off the charts for antagonizing folks and complete groups, organizations, etc. It was funny as hell. Now, he earns something like $100M a year, per YEAR. The guy can't run or dunk or throw a darn thing and makes more money than Michael freaking Jordan. lol
