And he keeps making roughly 200k/yr in just endorsement $$. I'm sure he's losing sleep over his current rating/ranking.Anyways.....
Shane's not the best player in the world atm, regardless of his fargorate. Not even top 5 imo. And he knows it.

Never said he was.And he keeps making roughly 200k/yr in just endorsement $$. I'm sure he's losing sleep over his current rating/ranking.
As much as I hate to admit it, I agree with you. He seems to be phoning it in lately.Never said he was.
Shane hasn't looked like he gives much of a crap for pool for a while.
Didn't look like he wanted to be at the Mosconi Cup this year (and who can blame him lol, men vs boys), and several of the other Cups tbh.
I feel Shane's passion for pool might be waning a bit. It's understandable, he's been doing it since he was a toddler.
He'd rather fish, and I really can't blame him.
Like I said before, Shane can be a god when he wants to be, but his "want" seems to be in a lull atm.
That's not exactly right. FargoRate is a rating system that has all the uses that a rating system would have. It can be used to rank players, it can be used to seed players, it can be used to decide who gets invites to invitationals, it can be used to limit the class of player allowed into an event, it can be used to help you decide who to put your money on when side betting a match, it can be used to help you match up smartly with others when you are gambling, and about a billion other uses. One of those other billion uses is that it can indeed do a great job in helping to handicap matches.Fargorate is useful to handicap amateur events.
It really has no other meaning/use.
Everything you just said is what I said in one sentence. That's not exactly right. FargoRate is a rating system that has all the uses that a rating system would have. Maybe all of the reasons you just described, which everyone else in this thread has already agreed with, is the reason he’s winning less. We solved the case!Never said he was.

So are you saying you dont care what your rating is?Everything you just said is what I said in one sentence.
Fargorate gives people a number in which to handicap (seed/rank) amateur players. That's what we both said lol.
Pros above about 720 mostly don't really give a crap about their fargo. They use their instinct to determine "spots", races, etc.
Pro fargorates are for amateur players to "ooh and aah" about, and also to point out how much better the big kids are.![]()
You said FargoRate has "no other meaning/use" other than to "handicap amateur events". I then listed a number of other uses, so you were very clearly wrong, and I only listed a small portion of them.Everything you just said is what I said in one sentence.

Only if there's a fargorate-capped tourney I'm trying to keep it under to play in. Otherwise whoopty-do, didn't need it the first 30 years I played lol. I've never been a fan of it really. And, like any rating, it has to be taken with a huge grain of salt.So are you saying you dont care what your rating is?
Lol, okay. I'll let you have your opinion, np. Fargorate is a farce, and can be easily manipulated with Salotto. You kids keep worshipping it's accuracy as the holy grail of rankings. Knock yourselves out lolYou said FargoRate has "no other meaning/use" other than to "handicap amateur events". I then listed a number of other uses, and I only listed a small portion of them, so you were very clearly wrong.
As far as some of your other comments... When I said seeding players, I was talking about pros in pro events by the way. You say it is for seeding amateur players, but I'm not sure I've personally ever even seen an amateur singles tournament that was seeded although I'm sure it has happened (I have seen it with team events). I've seen tons of professional events seeded though. Then you say it ranks amateur players. No, it ranks all players, and the rankings of the professional players (as in 5th best, 37th best, etc) is looked at and utilized far more than rankings of amateur players by the way. And yes, lots of people use their instincts to rate people, and FargoRate does a better job than all of them. That's not to say that somebody with current useful knowledge (so and so's wife just died etc, Billy Bob has really been in stroke lately, etc) can't beat FargoRate in the short term, but they aren't ever going to do a better job of rating or ranking everybody's average game, not to mention that when trying to determine spots and such you would be a fool not to take into consideration all the information you possibly could including their FargoRates. As for the FargoRates of the pros not having any other uses besides allowing amateurs something to "ooh and aah" over, I gave you several other uses and there are more.
You got so many things wrong in this post (very obviously and provably wrong no less) you might just have the record for getting the most things wrong in the shortest post.
There were a couple local players trying to play the system via Salotto. I don't know the ins/outs but i do know they got caught and banned from any area FR rated events. Don't like FR don't play. May not be perfect but i know in my area(Ok. City, Tulsa,Wichita,KC) there are more tournaments for the average player than EVER before.Lol, okay. I'll let you have your opinion, np. Fargorate is a farce, and can be easily manipulated with Salotto. You kids keep worshipping it's accuracy as the holy grail of rankings. Knock yourselves out lol
Hey man I kind of agree that it's possible he's off a little because of the cf, but this is just asinine. You pick 5 players and have them all play Shane and I'd bet anything Shane wins more matches than he loses.Anyways.....

And as was said before, the Cynergy was made, basically, to Shane's exacting specifications. He was instrumental in its creation. He made CueTec keep refining it till it met his standards. So no one can blame the cue if his play is off a little. I think he is just relaxing a little bit. And I think he deserves some relaxation.Hey man I kind of agree that it's possible he's off a little because of the cf, but this is just asinine. I downloaded the Salotto app. In 20 min of playing with it, I see nothing you can do differently then you can do on the FargoRate app.Lol, okay. I'll let you have your opinion, np. The top players are sufficiently close that it depends on when the clock starts.Shane is NOT the highest ranked player based only using the past few years fargo data. Right Mike Page?
100% spot on! Shane doesn't need Cuetec, they need him. ANY cue manufacturer would welcome Shane aboard in seconds, with open armsPerhaps I'm ignorant, but isn't Shane more valuable to Cuetec than Cuetec is to him? If he really wanted to play with a R360 they wouldn't stop him. I'm sure they gave him a bonus to persuade him though to use the Cynergy. But consider that Shane could easily walk away from Cuetec and have another sponsor in a matter of hours.
Its possible! The top players are sufficiently close that it depends on when the clock starts.
Looking at SVB (1029 games), Filler (1161 games), and Gorst (1586 games) for just 2021, then Shane (830.5) is slightly ahead of Filler (830.0) and Gorst (829.0). From the start of the pandemic, Filler is slightly (less than a point) ahead.
Ruiz, Yapp, and Ouschan are ahead of all 3 in 2021.
These differences are in the noise and are like focusing on weather when climate is the real interest. For a best guess of who is the better player, use Fargo Ratings.
Right now Filler and Shane are so close that a butterfly knocking the chalk off the rail in China will switch them.
And a BIG check...100% spot on! Shane doesn't need Cuetec, they need him. ANY cue manufacturer would welcome Shane aboard in seconds, with open arms
Someone will still try to argue with you despite all of your facts. Always love when you chime in with real data! The top players are sufficiently close that it depends on when the clock starts.
