in 3 of the 4 latest 10-ball WC it looked like childs play for the winners (lil ko, kaci x2).
the best games for professionals of this level are one pocket, straight pool and 15-ball rotation. but people say that wouldn't be viewer friendly, and they might be right.
Through Day 2 -- 8% (9 of 113 breaks)... I'll look forward to learning the final golden break rate for this World Pool Masters. ...
Breaks through Day 2:Hopefully if @AtLarge does stats we capture golden breaks, dry breaks, and scratches on the breaks when it's all said and done. Be curious.
I doubt it. By the time the Filipinos got YouTube cameras, they were already on 10 ball. Are there any good matches on YouTube of top pros playing 15 ball rotation?
West Point 1987? I'm impressed you still have your login info.
There're tons of them, but mostly all Filipino vs Filipino...Rotation was the only game my (Navy vet) Grandpa played, he taught me the game when I was a tyke...I'm pretty sure the U.S. Navy brought the game there originally...
Beaten by a Dutchman, a Taiwanese, a Filipino, an Albanian, and an American. The entire 2022 Mosconi Cup team for Europe got eliminated in the first round.
That was horrendous. One of the worst matches I've ever watched. I was there in the TAR Studio for it. Watching Shane walk around all night shaking his head like it was the stupidest thing he had ever played was painful. There is a TAR rotation match between Efren and Shane. It’s pretty good. But not free.
I’m in love with how day 1 turned out. I admire all those that lost. But in terms of the options of who might win this, any of them would be an exciting outcome.Let's not bemoan the fact that some very elite players are out.
We've still got the reigning World 10-ball champion in Kaci, the reigning US Open silver medalist in Lechner, the reigning silver medalist at the International 9-ball in Zielinski, and three former World 9-ball Champions in Ko Pin Yi, SVB and Feijen. Mario He won bronze at the 2022 European Open.
This field remains super-elite and is testament to just how tough this WPM filed was.
Tomorrow's matches should be a real treat!
The odds on Ko Pin-Yi at 20-1 seem a bit long to me.the betting odds before the tournament had a generous spread:

You sure it’s not saying that Tony Chohan will beat Mika Immonen?View attachment 699626
Since the late great oracle, Paul the Octopus has passed away, I consulted the tea leaves.
The tea leaves say the winner is the player with letter "I" in his name.

The way Niels was hitting 'em in the first round compared to every single other competitor, he's the one to watch for the win.i think a lot of people would've liked to see a filler - soufi match but fair play to niels and max, they earned it, especially niels
I agree. Plus—my opinon, of course—for Max to apply his break so proficiently each time, it takes a perfect rack. I think the referee did a great job on racking perfectly. It was interesting to see how the cue ball knocked the 9 in the same corner, three times in a row the exact same way. In fact, I thought it was pretty cool.Yeah, take a look at this, all three overlayed - takes a lot of skill to be that lucky/consistent:
Has a 0 area break box - i.e., break from the head spot - ever been tried? Though it seems like the top players are going to solve whatever break rules come up.
I am a little miffed, however, the the audience is consisting of mostly the players themselves. Is this a private gathering? No tickets sold? Maybe the weekend will fill the stands with onlookers. It is curious, though, compared to snooker. In snooker, the audience, at least for me, is part of the ambiance, the oohs and ahs and applause and cheers. I love it.
