You just described Chinese8b/Heyball to a 'T'. I don't see the huge issue with using a four ball Grady Rule. Will not change the nature of the game that much. Also most fans do not want to watch an old-school up-table bunt-a-thon. I know it doesn't happen that much but when trying to run on time all it takes is one or two of these to slow things up. It will still come down to the same usual cast of characters regardless of how they play.So someone could be ahead 1 nil and push all balls up table and win the match by running out the clock?
