2024 JOY Heyball payouts..............

We did. The last IPT was 500k for first, and a fair distribution for the remaining places. The other was 350k first, and same fair distribution.
IPT was a joke. Run by a snakeoil seller who hoped to get money from some Asian casino owner. The guy was too smart and told KT to fk off. Trying to compare IPT with either the JOY or STAR events is ludicrous.

I agree he was a snake oil salesman. But if you focus on ONLY the pool, he got in on international TV (before streaming internationally could be done with anyone with a phone). He had professional crews and professional venues. He had the biggest prizes by far. They were all paid out except the last tournament (and I'm quite sure it was reported by Billiards Digest and others that all the player were eventually paid in full about 1 year later. Whether that is completely true IDK).

Yes, it didn't work in the end and folded. But we did have the biggest events before or even until now in those 2 years. You can't take that away, IMO.

I'm pretty sure Thorston for example took his 350k and bought a new house cash.

I mean, the lower-tier cities will be more likely to find such things/shady practices. Just like anywhere else In the world tbh. I'm sure if you looked for it, you'd come across it. Not sure why you'd bother unless you're a genuinely Fugly individual lol

they'll be there in shanghai too. and with that amount of visiting businessmen i bet their doing ok financially too. worlds oldest profession and it won't go away. islamic dictatorship iran has draconian laws against it, but still it's common in teheran.

as for gambling, maybe CCP made an effort in the communist years to forbid it. but chinese people are hrmm.. very prone to gambling. the law doesn't work in taiwan and it doesn't work in china, just as it doesn't work in western countries with gambling laws. can't outlaw human nature

100% you can find them in Shanghai... why a person would want to is there own cross to bear lol much like most of Asia where it is illegal, they are a night time nuisance on certain streets. I understand the calls for legalization of sex work, because as a legal industry it would cause far less damage globally than it currently does (in many ways from general health, to economic stability and crime prevention). I don't think much of Asia is in a stable enough place to facilitate functional legal frameworks around this. I'd steer clear (unless you're too fugly for the bar scene, as I mentioned earlier)

Chinese love to place bets, big or small. It's a part of their culture. You want to gamble for big money, be prepared to be fisted... without lube, by the long arm of the law.

Lots of players never got paid. I know one good player that got piddly checks til about 2010ish then they stopped. Basically what i'm saying is that the IPT was a house of cards(barely) that was doomed to fail before the first event ever happened. Like a sham supernova that burned white-hot for a couple seconds.

last year this event pissed off some players with the female handicap (softer break rule and female player can nominate the last ball in their suite to be removed). i wonder if they'll change that.
Hahaha ...it was hilarious and also cringy watching Kelly Fisher destroy opponents and see them fuming in their chair, with that ridiculous spot, I mean c'mon she's a snooker champion for goodness sake!

Hookers are a plenty. They knock on the hotel doors of the westerners.
I'd stay away from illegal activities while in China. Plenty of Westerners have disappeared without a trace for years. God knows what they are doing to them, but it's easy enough to imagine.
Flushing NY has better talent and they stand on the sidewalk offering massage.

You can look from your car before getting out, way better than strange hotel door opening.
Wow, so we're cruising for hookers now? You were spewing woke nonsense just a short while ago, and now you are with the scum of the earth, trawling the streets of NY for desperate women to defile, for the satisfaction of your own twisted needs? That rather confirms my hypothesis regarding the white knights of the internet. Some men use hookers, it's a fact of life and it is what it is. It is however NOT a good position to be in if you want to grandstand about womens rights! Being a fact of life doesn't make it any less despicable, BTW.

Relax bro, he got you. If you take one word that troll says as serious you've been had. He lives for this shit alone in his mommies basement.

It's a difficult game to play, but interesting. Whomever wins that first place will have earned it. The top Chinese players are among the most talented I've ever seen.
Might be hard but is very boring/one dimensional to me. The tiny pockets preclude much if any cb movement so it becomes a game of cinch pool. I've tried watching it and never get further than about 15min.

It is sometimes, but the safety battles are interesting, and uncharacteristic of the 8-ball format known to the rest of the world

I think CB movement is a huge part of the game, as is using the nap of the cloth to assist in pocketing balls, and manipulating angles that would seem impossible or illogical to people only familiar with an American table. Have you ever played Chinese-8?
