2024 World Pool Championship

I saw FSR ran 9-pack vs Dechaine on Darrens 8-ball tourney on 2017 in New York when i was there too.. So he was pretty good way before 2021 too.

FSR was 3rd best European back in 2015. But for some reason people, including Europeans, were very slow to catch on

Good news on the DAZN front... they appear to have fixed the cancellation issues with subscriptions! You can cancel any time in the 30 days and don't have to remember to do it in the first day or week or whatever it was. They might have heard the complaints, I know I gave them one.

Ready for some pool on the clock today ;)

This is what I see on Matchroom.live

As much as i respect MR's job at advancing pro pool their streaming and scoring SUCK big time. I have to register just to get scores???? WTF. All that means is you're gonna get hammered with ads-n-shit. One area where they truly dog it.

I thought the same and put it off for a while. I finally gave in two tournaments ago and registered (with a throw away email). Its actually been a good website experience, and I haven’t gotten any spam.

I registered and the inundation of emails hasn't been as awful as I expected.

Why must you register then? Is this some data that MR has to show to potential advertisers/investors?? Gotta be some $$ reason for it.

Even if they did flood your inbox with spam, the solutions are easy

1. Use a throw away email like iusedtoberich did.
2. Open one of the spam emails, sroll to the buttom and click on Unsubscribe

Describe 'not as awful'.
Like non-existent. I'm on the list for media releases from Matchroom as well so its tough to gauge if these are being sent because I registered for the scoring or the email list. Honestly, even with the media list, Matchroom is pretty good about not pounding you with emails. Now DAZN...

I don't want to see anything bad enuff to join DAZN. Thanks for info.

Without naming names, there are dozens of players in this field that would be worse than 250:1 even if given a bye into the last 16.

Tough to disagree with the top six betting favorites, as each has already won a World 9-ball championship. Filler and Gorst are the logical favorites, too. Each has prevailed over some big, tough fields, with Fedor a two-time winner of the Derby City Classic 9-ball, which tends to have a field of over 400. As we know, Josh has won everything in sight, but Fedor's silver at the 2023 US Open, which featured one of the toughest fields we've ever seen. reminds us that Gorst knows how to go deep in the toughest spots. Yes, he's without a Matchroom major, but his game travels as well as anybody's.

Filler and Gorst have more composure at the table than anyone else in the game today, and they have probably played the two most electrifying matches of 2024 against each other: 1) the Derby City 10-ball semifinal in January, in which Filler prevailed 10-9 and 2) the World Pool Masters final in April, in which Gorst beat Filler 13-12. Although they rarely get credit for it, they are also both counted among the ten best defensive players in the game.

Picking these big field events is never easy, and perhaps somebody is about to write a story comparable to that of Robbie Capito at the UK Open, but as a rule, the World 9-ball doesn't produce Cinderella stories,

I expect Ko Pin Yi to have a good event.

What has happened to Chris Reinhold? A few years ago when he was chosen for the MC, some were saying he was going to end up being a top american. But looks like Thorpe, Sossei, Wolford, Lombardo, Styer, Oscar, all competing for that 4-10 slot for the Americans.

Is he still progressing? Just haven't heard much from him lately.

He's down in New Orleans area now, a few of the league players in my neck of the woods take lessons from him.

Karl's ones to watch that have never won a world championship including Ko Ping Chung (World 10 Title) and Jayson Shaw (World Blackball Title)

Maybe this is Matchroom's way of saying their World Pool Championship is the ONLY World Title .
