US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

My kids just reacted to me yelling at the tv...

Don't you just love it when they pan away just when you're going to see where the balls end up?

Jaden
That's funny. Frost was saying "oh watch where the cue ball ends up" or something to that effect and the camera is pointed elsewhere. I was yelling at the TV, "Where is the cue ball! "

... Put them all on a time clock, or none of them, ditto with the pocket sizes. ...
The first Matchroom US Open did have clocks on every table, IIRC. The problems were getting that many volunteers (basically) and the associated costs. Unless you go to chess clocks you're looking at 50 or 60 extra staff.

Wow, I can't wait to see four World 9-ball champions, including the reigning World 9-ball champion, duking it out for the title tomorrow. Tough to handicap, but I'd say Filler impressed me the most on Friday, winning 19 of his last 23 racks played. Gorst finally found his "A" game on Friday and SVB, though a bit weak on Friday, has played extremely well this week. Niels has been consistently excellent, too.

Honestly, I can easily imagine any one of these hoisting the trophy on Saturday. May the best man win.

Yeah
When your daddy says you should turn pro ... but you aren't good enough to beat an old man that used to play a little!
What if the old man that used to play a little is Cesar Morales?

haven't seen niels play at all but looking at the bracket he's beaten all his opponents with 4 or more racks.

to my knowledge niels hasn't been on the tv table at all, so that could favor fedor.
