Looks like a SUPER boring event!!

Still kinda bummed about the Filler thing and I would've hoped for 1 or 2 matches of "not 9-ball". And I do hope the Mosconi Cup winner challenges Asia, not Europe by default.

But for now I'm thrilled that the Reyes Cup is finally here.. For at least a decade people are saying Efren deserves a cup, and now it's here 🥹

I predict the European players will not be able to handle the heat, and humidity. The conditions will do more to determine the outcome than anything else. The streaming will probably suck, especially for the US audience.

Hopefully I'm wrong on both counts.

How many cups are needed to create a SuperCup?

A Mosconi and a Reyes.

Matchroom only promote 9-Ball (in terms of pool), so that was never going to happen. However they pretty much said it will be Asia vs the winner of the Mosconi (it just so happened to be Europe this time) going forward (technically not 100% confirmed, but as good as, based on all the press conferences).

I still think it should be The Philippines vs Asia, USA vs Europe and then the winners play each other!

Yes, but the two best players in the world are both European. Oh wait, neither is playing. Never mind.

I guess this means it starts at 7:30 AM USA Eastern Time? This was on my DAZN.

should be no problem for FSR, alcaide and kaci. in theory worse for krause and shaw. but we'll see.

i wouldnt be surprised if the streaming crashed. i suppose they are relying on philippine infrastructure.

asia starting out with yapp/ko and not chua/biado is a bit of a headscratcher. europe going with FSR/alcaide

I am happy for the Reyes Cup, but the fact that Matchroom is well aware of the class-action lawsuit against DAZN for their predatory practices and the tens of thousands of complaints lodged against DAZN and continues to offer DAZN to Americans to watch the Matchroom product speaks volumes to me. Yes, I am aware that the YouTube channel is free, but for the live stream/TV table, Matchroom offers DAZN to Americans.

Let's face it. USA pool is circling the drain and has been for some time. Matchroom doesn't give a damn about the American fan base. Their concentration now is on pool in Asia, rightfully so since that is where pool shines brightly in popularity, and Middle East, where the big money is. Buh-bye, American pool pie.

As an aside, I have been hearing some off-the cuff comments on live mics at several Matchroom events before the broadcast starts, and some have expressed disappointment, for lack of a better word, in the current leadership's treatment of underlings. Not everybody is willing to bend the knee, no matter how great the Matchroom pool product is, and because of Matchroom continuing to push DAZN to the American pool fan base, I am most definitely not bending the knee to Matchroom today.

I had thought Matchroom was stuck with DAZN because of their boxing events?

Well, it seems other parts of the world do not have to use DAZN to see the Matchroom Product. It seems to be limited to USA and sometimes Canada. Other counties can use different broadcast venues. It is a shame they cannot share it on their subscribed Matchroom.live platform to Americans.

How cool is this! Window's Open shared this poster of the QR code for the program of the Reyes Cup. I tried it on my iPhone from this photo, and it worked.

Is there a way to scan the code from your phone, when the image of the code is on your phone?
I scanned the code on my iPhone, and then clicked the link on the bottom. I then saw the entire program, page by page. It is really cool!
