Nick Varner won the same tournament two years in a row. Two and half decades later, Max Eberle won that same tournament two years in a row. What other azbilliard member won that tournament?

Last year we had a moment when 3 winners of that were in the pool room. Max was one. Plus two women. I noticed and thought that was kind of cool. One of the women knocked me out of a little tournament last Sunday. They don’t post here tho so aren’t the answer to the question.

ACUI Collegiate. Going from memory, could be wrong. Nick was around 1968-9. That would make Max 1993-4.
Again, all from memory, so don’t shoot me if I’m wrong.

I think Max won in ‘93 going from memory.

Sadly, the collegiate championship ended six years ago. Mark Wilson and Lindenwood had a pretty good run. He showed what could be done developing players if you put in the effort. The BEF Junior Nationals now have a division for college-age students but it seems to have little promotion.

A previous thread:

Players from Linwood University, where Mark Wilson coached, won the collegiate championship the last six years it was held. Landon Shuffett won it two years in a row for Linwood University. But, it looks like the big stick played a decade earlier: Lars Vardaman won it three years in a row for Southern Illinois University–Edwardsville. Wow!

A belated congratulations to Bob Jewett playing out of UC Berkeley! Any other azbiliards winners? Sound your horn.
