Quotes About Pool

I have always liked the Buddhist saying which goes something like:

Every bullseye is the result of 100 misses.

Lou Figueroa
IOWs there ain't
no shortcuts

Reminds me of Gretsky's quote:

"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take"

Shoot hard and sleep in the street.

"A drunk Girl Scout could have made that shot if you held her up to the table." -- Danny McGoorty as quoted by Byrne.

"You can get your teeth fixed... get Lasik surgery for your eyes, get
liposuction for a flat stomach... but I'm here to tell you, folks...
YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID" - Ron White

Resurrecting one here. During interview at a tournament, Chao Fong-Pang was asked what he liked to do when he wasn’t playing pool. His reply, “I like to gamble and smoke” 😁

My friend used to tell losers that blamed their equipment …

“you don’t need a better cue, you need a better you!”

"Thus so wretched is man that he would weary even without any cause for weariness... and so frivolous is he that, though full of a thousand reasons for weariness, the least thing, such as playing billiards or hitting a ball, is sufficient enough to amuse him." -Blaise Pascal
I often feel that I can almost wrap my head around an idea, but not quite.

What’s the point? There is no reason to sit on my ass on a Sunday afternoon? Haven’t even broke a sweat all day.

Yet, I should sit on my ass after work even though I want to shoot pool because it’s a frivolous pursuit?

Think this Pascal fellow might need a punch in the nose.
