If WNT wanted to do something interesting, once they get to this point of a tournament, they could let the players pick who they want to play. Do sort of like a quick draft, where the undefeated players get to pick. Their order would be based on performance or ranking. Maybe not a great idea for the U.S. Open, but would be interesting at some other event. Would stir up controversy and all the players would have to do their homework in order to know who they should pick.

You get to play a loser in the first round of single elimination. Possibly less on their game than one of the players who won three straight matches. Or maybe not. The counter argument is that the players who came through the long way -- at least four matches -- have more time on the tables.

WNT.TV has actually gotten a lot better the last few months. Been much more reliable and recordings get put up faster.

When WNT.TV started, the website would clip individual matches, but it was a lengthy process that resulted in big delays posting to the site. Now WNT puts up full streams of Tables 1, 2 and 3 after the matches are finished. The recordings get up quicker.

This does require a user to FF through the matches to find what they want. I actually prefer it.

Now finding theses matches? Not so easy. Bizarre, actually.

Take the US Open. The first two days of matches are not on the main page when you open up WNT.TV.

If you click on HOME, LIVE or ON DEMAND at the top of the page, you wont find the matches either.

If you scroll down the main page, you will see a "US Open Pool Championship" page. What you will see, however, is last year's matches.

BUT ... if you click the small SEE ALL link on the right side of the "US OPEN POOL CHAMPIONSHIP category, voila. Now you will see the most recent 2025 US Open matches.

Weird? Confusing? Greatly in need of improvement? You bet.

The WNT.TV interface is laughable. Counter-intuitive, inadequate labelling, confusing layout, pathetically reminiscent of early website designs. They should hire a company to do some user testing and fix it once and for all. It's not rocket science.

Bob didn't some of the winners, get an extra days rest? Announcers kept talking about Chua/tired.
 
At the U.S. Open, if you're rooting for the home team, there are six representing USA still standing in the Last 64: Chris Reinhold, Lukas Fracasso-Verner, Brandon Shuff, Oscar Dominguez, Fedor Gorst, and Tyler Styer.

Go USA! Fedor is obviously the favorite of this group, but I'd love to see Brandon, Chris, Oscar, and Tyler go deep too!

There is none. This is just one of the several maddening things that have transpired with MR buying the rights to, and running the US Open. It used to be a true double elimination tournament until the Final, not getting it to 64 and then going to single elimination, quite unjust to those still on the winners side.

Then there’s the change from the once standard race to 11 being to 9 now until it goes to the round of 64, then I believe it becomes a race to 10. While many might not think the difference matters, it favors weaker players and alters the event. Sadly Barry’s family sold his legacy for filthy lucre, and were now at the mercy of however MR wants to run it.
