Ordered The New Diamond Today!

Since my Gold Crown IV plays tough and has 4.5 corner and 4.75 sides I decided to go with the slightly larger pockets on the Diamond. It will have 4.75 corners and 5.25 sides.

4-6 months. Will be a long wait. Maybe I will luck out and have an early delivery.
I have the Paragon, not the Professional. I, too, ordered my table with the 4.75" corners.

When they were actually building the table, I received a call asking if I was SURE I wanted 4.75" corners. They rarely get an order for a Paragon like that, and they wanted to confirm before building the rails. I appreciate that sort of service. I confirmed that's what I wanted.

I've posted this picture before, but in case you missed it, you can see the 4.75" at the points and about 4.5" toward the back of the shelf.

The crew at Diamond get irritated if you order anything other than Procut.
They will have lumps of debris put under the cloth, to get even. :geek:
I am looking for a table as I moved back to CT from Florida and my new home has a 20X 28 bonus room - I called Diamond and they said 99% of new tables are pro cut - they did not seem to want to do the 4 3/4 - I think that I will go with a good used GC. $8500 was their quote on a 9 foot Pro Am

I would believe that, I ordered a league cut table in 2007 from Diamond.
Aaron was my contact at Diamond, and I would call once every three weeks or so and check in on the progress. Like what Korsakoff stated in the other Diamond thread, Aaron asked me if I was sure I wanted the bigger pockets? I changed my mind and told Him Pro cut.

I actually heard guys in the background cheering, I must have been on a speaker phone.

Business is good at Diamond! Maybe one of the more successful small businesses in the country.

Nice choice! I like that leg and corner style too, and the league cut pockets. Are the rail tops the solid wood or the harder epoxy/phenolic/whatever they call it now material?

This new Diamond table can't get here fast enough.

Went downstairs to the Gold Crown IV earlier. Broke 30 times. One chance. Thats 1 chance. Just one chance to run out. The other 29 times had nothing.

I think you should put the Dimaond in the basement and the GC in the upstairs garage. That way you will have an apples to apples comparison.

Half serious, half joking.

I went with the League Cut corners. 4.75 and the sides 5.25. My GCIV has tight pockets - 4.5 corners and 4.75 sides. If I want to play on a tight table I will go downstairs and play on the Gold Crown IV. If I want a table with slightly more open pockets I will walk over and play on the Diamond.

By the way, beautiful table! Mine is going to be Oak/Cherry with the Diamond Logo routed into all four skirts/rails.

The gold crown you describe is an easier playing table.

Repeated.

I have never broke 29 racks and NOT had a chance to run out, what are you hitting them with, a feather duster?

Balls spread out. Alot of times I make a ball.

But 90% of the time or more I just don't seem to have a runnable rack. This has been going on for 20+ years. I remember years ago I would get so frustrated that I would throw balls against the wall.

Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's the Gold Crown IV. I just hope and pray the Diamond is more forgiving. And when I say forgiving I am not - NOT - talking about the corner pockets.
