107 Breaks & 6 Chances

Play 14.1 instead, as suggested by others. Set up a break shot, break up the pack and see how many balls you can run. Much more fun than being frustrated after the break. Lots of 14.1 videos of pros on youtube. Best game to practice by yourself.

True, but this is Diamonds home court area of the country, and there are more players on 7' than ever before in our country.

On a good day, yes.

On most days I would screw up somehow, someway.

Actually, if you look at Diagram #2 and reverse the 2B and 6B it becomes somewhat difficult. You would have to jack up/elevate to make the 2B, and then position on the 5B wouldn't be easy. The 7B and 8B block the corners.

So I would probably have to change my answer. Even on a good day I probably wouldn't get this out unless I hit a really good shot on the opening 2B.

AAAAAAAHHHH> Buzzer of death. If you flip the 6 and 2 you need only make the two, go back and forth and play speed for center table - both 5 and 6.

No jacked up, just roll with some outside, on your way.

Here's a classic example of what plagues me. I had just broke about 15 racks and only had one halfway decent chance to run out. When this stuff starts - which is almost every time I break racks - it just honks me off and I get totally out of whack and am so mad I can't hardly make a ball. So I said to myself "One More Rack" and that's it. I broke and finally had a decent chance.

I got straight on the 6B and wanted to just follow up about 8-10 inches to get a really good angle on the 7B to get to the 8B. So I slow rolled the 6B and the CB rolled off just a hair to the left and I missed the 6B just to the right as per the diagram. I said the heck with it and turned the lights out and came back upstairs.

If this would have been my first break of the night I bet I would have not missed the 6B. But I was so sick and tired of the same old stuff again my approach was terrible. And you see the result.

And there you have it. Say the break is a quantum event with zero certainty,
you is the only difference.

In rational terms, see how you indicated the errant path of the 6 ball? Left unchanged, that's all that diagram will ever do.

IDK why you even worry about the break, especially since it leads to frustration. Just play the ghost. Take BIH after the break. The break means almost zero on a 9' unless you are a 650 range player.
This...

I mean, definitely practice the break, but take ball in hand and try to beat the ghost. Those problem racks, try to get those clusters out.

Should have played a stun-run-thru. Only needed a couple inches forward. Slow roll is death on most equipment.

When i was first around good players/action guys i soon noticed that they all hit most shots at about the same speed and RARELY did they slo-roll one. They play on equipment that varies from great to pure shit and they can't take the chance of whitey rolling off.
