International Open 2025

What kind of table are they playing on?

And can somebody go and measure the pockets, both corner and side?

And please don't say they look 4.5" to me. Somebody go and measure them. Using two balls would be fine.
Mark Wilson said more than once today that the corners are 4 1/2". But I'm not sure whether he really measured them. In this event in 2021 and 2022, they were said to be 4 1/2", then 4 1/4" in 2023 and 2024. So I'll second your request for someone who knows what he or she is doing to go and measure them.

Pretty sure it’s the same table they use at the DCC and in fact the tournament tables are headed to the DCC, per the mechanics.

Could be, but that doesn't pin down the size. At the DCCs, they said the pockets were 4 1/2" for the Bigfoot through 2022. Then 4 1/8" in 2023, 4 1/4" in 2024, and unstated in 2025.

I've always thought that the Bigfoot events at the DCC and the International were invitational events for professionals. And I believe they have always tried to get the most skilled players they could.

This year at the International it appears that they were unable to fill all of the planned 16 spots with professionals of any level. So rather than just play the event with fewer than 16, the field was filled somehow with several players who, in my opinion, do not belong in an event of this caliber. I'd much rather see byes, or a revised format for fewer players, than players whose skill level is far below that of the traditional Bigfoot players. There are other events at both the DCC and the International that are pro/ams. I think that filling out a Bigfoot field with players of a significantly lesser ability than the Bigfoot norm is a poor decision.
Literally under 600 and under 500 🤦‍♂️ who in TF thought this was a good idea? Catastrophic demise(ICP song about Chris Benoit) if you havent been defiled, you have now

I imagine those two balls at the Bigfoot pocket are sitting on the table, not raised a bit. That means the noses of the rails (the points of the pocket in this case) are touching them above the equator of the balls, i.e., at a point that is less than the full diameter of 2.25". It also looks like slightly more of the balls is outside the mouth of the pocket than inside the mouth. But even if they were exactly half in and half out, the picture indicates that the pocket mouth is less than 4 1/2". My guess is 4 1/4" or slightly more, like 4 5/16".

You don't have a ruler or tape measure with you, eh? Just measure from point to point.

Personally, I dan’t know.

But some care and I am here and thought whaddahey.

Just for an added dimension, here are the pockets on the 9’ Diamond in the Action Room.

Well, when they move a 9-footer into the arena, I'd be interested in seeing another picture of that one (with balls or ruler). So win some 1-pocket matches and hang around until Tuesday!

Dan’t know how that’s going to go

Got a forfeit and am playing Marc Vidal tomorrow.

Looks like they're having trouble filling the Bigfoot, now I'm debating whether I go watch. I mean, a Buc-ee's nearby is enticing but those Bigfoot matches could be whitewashes.
It will get better in the second round after all the 500 and 600 players are gone. A 750 player is definitely capable of competing with anyone. There are a lot of very good players who play in that 740-760 range. They can handle an open rack as good as anyone. It's on the game's finer points (kicking, jumping, safeties) they are most likely to err. Six of the eight matches have players with 800+ Fargos and in the other two are high 700's. That will be when the real Bigfoot begins, round two.

I was confused by the low rated players in the 10 ball.
Those pockets look tough.
Play well tomorrow!

In modern era of smarthpones in everybody's pocket, a ruler is easily accessible through an app store (download -> install -> measure) :D

International Bigfoot rules changes:
• Does a 10-ball made on the break (with no foul) count as a game win?
No in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025.
Yes in 2024.
On one of Arseni's breaks the 10 went to the corner straight-in. And this is with a racking template😖
