I like your shot a little bit more due to the cueball not having the potential to scratch.
But for a movie audience the fear of scratching and hanging on the lip was pretty spectacular.

Utterly amazing, and the measles really help you to appreciate how long the spin on the cue ball is sustained. I doubt even Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly could outdo those dances.
I will get to that one eventually.

Question:
There's that similar shot where the cue ball overtakes the ball on the way to the pocket. Is that with different weight balls? It's the simplest looking shot I've never been able to do.
That is the passing lane shot. It is not different weighted balls.Question:
