The best one-handed jack-up players

i remember miami playing some guy 9 ball i think 50 a game which was a bigger bet for miami around 1968 or 9. fairly close game but he was losing pretty good.
so he quit and said ill only play if you give me the 8 and ill play one handed. can you believe that. well he got all his money back.

This guy has had more identities than any pool player I know. He was "Pots and Pans" in the Johnston City days, "Bunny the Bell Hop" in Miami in the 70's, and is now starring as Charlie Chaplin at various pool events. He can still play too, winning the Super Seniors at the BCA a few years back.

He has a great string of "one liners" if you ever run into him.
I knew Bernard for a long time from the early Sixties at Johnny Morris's ( he was from Pittsburgh & was travelling with Toledo Joe Thomas, A friend of mine as well as a pool mentor) at the Original Hot Dog in Toledo,Ohio to 2008 in Las Vegas,Nv at The Dealer's choice Bar on Spring Mt Rd. Some people called him The Gov.He always liked talking to me about Toledo Joe & he always told me that I was a "good egg". I loved the black jacket that he wore a lot that said on the back of it "I need the 8, scouts honor" ! He very may well have been the best two dollar eight ball hustler, Ever !!

You knew him well, Bunny the Rogue!

unfortunately in pool rooms matching up trick games doesn't happen much anymore. like in the past where most games had some sort of funny thing added. i probably played one handed as much as two at times. with spots most could never dream or even think of.
that's how you made games back then when action was tough.

a game that many fell for was you had to make 50 before they made just one ball in a certain side pocket. seemed easy. but not so.
the much better players changed it to run 50 before they make one in the side and that ruined it as it made it clear the side pocket was a bad bet.

I watched a few streams out of eastern Canada of a guy known as the One Armed Bandit. This player, rarely missed. Most of us would stand no chance. I was not able to figure out his real name.

Were all of you that are old enough to remember the 60's are just too high to forget the Best 'Rotation' 1 handed player!

AGUSATE, Puerto Rican player from Spanish Harlem!

BTW, Ronnie would have to play his Best to beat Artie B. from Chicago playing 1 handed 1 hole!

nubby, ernie morgan was called that but maybe gave himself that name. he played one handed really well. almost as good as he begged for money.

I saw Bucky Bell give supposedly the best one pocket player around Atlanta weight and beat him. I dont know how that stands up against the best, but it was very impressive.
