Playing the continent of Europe is always going to be an uphill battle with the current available American talent. There’s a big drop off after Fedor and Shane. And Shane typically hasn’t played well. A lot of years in the Mosconi. On the other hand, Europe has about 7 to 8 guys to choose from that could beat the USA team.

7-8? I'd say there's at least 3-4 full teams of euros that could beat the US 'A' squad.

The equipment and conditions are the same for all.

The templates have been here for almost 20 years, if they sucked, they would have not survived that long and would have faded just like other solutions. There are pros and cons to everything.
I don’t think that there is a better solution for a tight rack, that gets the job done fast and cheap like the template.

At the end, Fedor was asked who he would like to play next, and he named everyone and their mother except for Filler. Interesting...

I’d like to see filler v Fedor in 9 ball, one pocket, and banks one on one match (perhaps 14.1 too).

Fedor is a machine and when he’s in stroke he’s almost unbeatable. That being said something has to be done about the break. You shouldn’t be able to make the 1 every time and I would eliminate jump cues. Nineball has become a joke for pros.

I was being generous. They could easily put out 2 5 man teams to beat us rn.

Shane's best pool was played from 2011-2016. I don't think the Shane of that period was any better than the Shane of today. Shane plays as well as he ever has. The difference is that the level has risen so much in the past ten years, to a large extent due to the continuing globalization of the game. The level will rise again greatly over the next ten years and, yes, somebody that plays better than Filler will probably emerge at some point. It's the natural flow of things.

I agree with you that Shane may be playing the same as he did years ago, but I don’t think that his hunger or fire is the same,at times in this match he looked bored.

hide the 1 ball in the stack and the breaker can hit any ball first?

why hasn’t this been tried?
