  • I hit "The Cellar Club" tonight in Camden,Arkansas and put it on um'.....8-Ball....1st..$$$$
Hey Rod, you are right I was just lucky, but my buddy happen to know you, so we strolled the owner along, he was really the guy trying to get into our wallet, it cost him some small change, but using you to get there, and YES I'm Calvin's younger brother!,in 1979 I was 20 yrs. and Calvin was 30yrs., it may have been the Mercedes Benz!, hehe, take care , David:smile:
Hi David, You were just lucky; "still counts" said Mickey Rourke in "Bar Fly." Something is wrong though (time or year) because I traded the 1970 purple Cadillac Eldorado in 1976 and had a 1975 Gold Mercedes Benz in 1979. My personal site (http://konnections.net/rodcurry/index.htm) is where I documented some of my accolades from memory. My ex road partner Omaha John once said, "You know when you bet on something but aren't betting real money." I said, "Yes, what happened?" He said, "I blew my mind." Are you related to Country Calvin? Or are you he? I remember, for $50 the latter set up a proposition shot where the object ball was on the rail next to a corner pocket and we had to double-kiss the object ball diagonally the length of the table into the other corner pocket. A difficult shot but I came out on top and now wish I took the initiative more often regarding proposition shots. If I didn't stay in action, I would look for it elsewhere. Thanks, Rod
Thanks, Cat! Merry Christmas to you, too.

I'll update the site once again after the holidays. We have a new 12' table in Massachusetts.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year everyone!, may 2011 bring you nothing but wealth, health, & happiness, and an uncanny ability to never miss a ball while playing pool!

Thanks for the rep! I only recently found out that I could see when, who and why I got rep'd for (felt kinda dumb for it). I just try to learn what I can and hope I don't come off as too ignorant at the table or the forum. ;)
i didnt have time to do a blog on the M-cup, i was too tired everynight when I got in. It was fun-even tho we didnt win it was great fun. It was the most intense vibe i ever got at a pool event of any type, except when A dope dealer pulled a gun out one night at the pool room, lol that was a bit more intense in a bad way.

I was rooming with nick, JA, SVB all 3 good friends who Iknow well, I got the living room they had bedrooms, the condo we were in was the bomb, shit I'd love to live in it. The vibe was good at all times, even after it was over. Dennis dosent deserve anything but praise. It hurts me to see ass holes give him shit. I really like him-i met him a year ago and we bonded quickly, were alot alike.
Well guys it's that time of the year again!, I'm going on my camping/hunting trip for two months., leaving Oct.1st until after Thanksgiving Sunday weekend, I know I'm ready to hit the woods!

    laters,
    Cat
Always LQQK for the positive in anything, and you will come out a much better person.

Hi Eric, I use my right hand while waiting to shoot so i can look over my tip, use left while shooting..........David

That's how I use chalk as well, when i'm at the box I cant chalk with my right hand(shooting arm) I'd fumble my cue and drop it, switching hands with a cue and chalk, it would litterly land on the forearm of the cue on the edge of the table and beat the shit out of the cue,

I do what Efren does is roll the chalk around the tip left handed while shooting, then like you sitting down I use my right hand. I have never dropped a cue or picked up the chalk sideways and had to look and see where the useable side is. But I been playing over 25 years now.

    take care,

    eric :)
I have thought about that as well lol. Im to scared I would be clucking like a chicken or my wife would call before hand and I would be cleaning the house for life lol. Thanks for the rep!
Hey Rack'em Jay, I sorta ran into Josh Lumpkin last Tuesday night at Shooter's in Texarkana, it was during the 8-ball tourney, I matched up with the Korean (Yang) after the tourney, but watched Josh hit balls on the table beside us, he's got a sweet stroke, maybe we can play sometimes now that I'm out and about playin again!

    laters,
    Cat
