  • Glen,

Quick question, I am getting conflicting information for Gold Crown 3 Rubber, I have found some websites stating that the K66 profile is what is used, however I have also read some threads on AZ stating it's K55.

    Which is it?
So i saw your post on how to fix the GC4 sag problem. Do you put a brace on all 4 corners of the table I assume?

    Thanks
    Greg
I was wondering how I can get ahold of your DVD if it is available. I'd like to check it out before I put the cloth on my rails and table to make sure i've done it correctly. I've worked for a guy who did it but he just stretched it as hard as he could on the slate and rails and ive never been impressed with how the tables he's done have played.
Still working the NJ area, I'm probably still a few weeks out, still have to repo the table in Detroit yet too.
It's a GC3, powder coated castings and trim, nice...but way over priced when you have to consider it's going to cost more on top of the sale price to get the table moved and set back up at your location.
I'm still in the area working on other GC's that are f&*ked up...lol I'll have a better idea next week buddy.
    Hey Glen,

Can you give me an idea when you will be swinging through Maryland for my table? I may have some things to clear on my calendar.
Greg, still up in the New Jersey area, but should be done in a few more weeks, then heading back to Diamond by way of your house, you're on my map on my computer so I won't forget, and I'll call at least a couple of days in advance, but I'll try and give you about 5-7 days notice first.
Steve, the key to Billiards cloth is to stretch it tight, but not so tight as to not be able to install it...LOL Heated slates also help with the speed of the tables as well, but so do the cushions, and how tight the cloth is wraped around the cushions. Wetting the cloth only makes it stretch more, but that causes the cloth to loose it's spring, meaning it will lay on the slate lifeless and come loose much easier later on.

    Hi Glen,

If you were in a contest to install Simonis rapide 300 cloth on a billiard table and have the cloth roll faster than your competitors, (no silicone sprays), what would you do different? All things equal. Only alteration is the cloth.

The Olhausen Open Tournament is a month away and I want the carom tables lighting fast.

My friend Steve Waldo went to Chicago and worked on the tables with you. He said you said 2" pull is max on rapide 300.

What if I wet the cloth?

What if I use a come-a-long, attach to cloth puller to it and rachet it tighter.

    I appreciate your help.

    Thanks,

    Steve Andersen
    Glen,

Do you have any DVD's or information for people looking to become table mechanics? I'm more interested in material fit for Diamond tables to be honest. Does Diamond have a table mechanic class or program or is there any way you can point me in the right direction? Thank you so much!
I saw it for a moment, but didn't really look at it because I won't be headed to Cali for about 2 more months, I could work on it then, or give you the name of a mechanic that could. Snooker tables are a funny bred of tables, unlike normal pool tables.
    Hi Glenn,

I'm wondering if you saw the PM that I sent you a couple of days, about possibly setting up my full size snooker table in N. Calif. You come highly recommended, and I'm hoping that I can engage you.

    Thanks,
Not a problem, I should be passing through Tucson in the next couple of months or so. Talk to Brian at Diamond 812-288-7665 to see if they have any used/reconditioned 9ft Pro's at the factory.

    Glen
