2025 DERBY CITY ALL 3 FINALS ON LAST SUNDAY THOUGHTS....

No shade intended, he's a great player especially in an all-around event like this but he is definitely a tough watch.

2025 DERBY CITY ALL 3 FINALS ON LAST SUNDAY THOUGHTS....

The powers that be doing their job to keep the tournament on track - John Hennessee is out in Rd 5 of the one pocket. Did not have a favorable draw, Sky Woodward, Lee Van, and Tony in the first 5 rounds is crazy work. I guess you could say Sky had a tough draw too with Hennessee giving him his...

    Mosconi Cup 2024, Nov. 30-Dec. 3, Orlando

I've noticed this in the past, but I have seen it many times in this event...all of the Euros are very quick to compliment the USA players when they make a good shot. Even Jayson Shaw (who's antics I cannot stand) does not hesitate to tap the table or otherwise acknowledge when one of our guys...

    The Reyes Cup

Awesome event - I do think there will be more intensity on the European side in the future. They aren't going to want to be embarrassed like this again. It's criminal that Ko Ping Chung wasn't on the Asian side, but I'm not sure who you leave off - especially given the focus on growing the...

Mike Dechaine giving pool one more shot

After the break shot, Earl is still a top 5 American player. It isn't an exaggeration to say Earl may have had the worst break in the entire US Open field

US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

That might be what he would say, but that is a pretty lame/sorry excuse. It’d be one thing if it was race to 5 on easy equipment and it was runout city, but especially these last few years it has been tactical battles with several innings in most racks. Shane slow-rolling and dogging that hanger...

US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

It's just a different level of pressure. It's a huge deal to fans and everyone and their dog knows that Shane has to play well to give USA a shot. I think this coupled with Shane's obvious social anxiety/issues is a recipe for errors here and there. The European team is a bunch of monsters...

US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

I was responding to the previous post, which I interpreted to suggest we remove the shot clock from the streaming table and televise players that naturally play fast. I'm suggesting there are way too many slow players for this to be feasible.

US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

Who are they? I'd say there are far more players that'd play unbearably slow on the streamed table if there was no shot clock than those that wouldn't. Matchroom's vision is likely to have all tables on shot clocks. To get there they need people to watch. Nobody is watching most of these matches...

US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

And I keep hearing how necessary a shot clock would be for an SVB vs. Kaci matchup. Fedor is definitely one of the slowest and most methodical players there is.

US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

Was the Pijus Labutis match televised? I haven’t watched that one yet but I’d like to. There’s something about Earl’s style that is must-watch TV for me. Does he actually play/move differently than other players or is that just something I’ve made up in my head? I’ve never been able to...

US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

Had to go back last night and watch the Earl vs. Marvin Asis match – Frosty said this a few times and I totally agree, after the break Earl still looks really, really freaking good. I only recall him missing the one easy 2 ball, and that miss was much more about trying to manufacture a shot on...

    Fedor vs SVB score

Why does this only impact your view of Filler? Alternatively, you could view this as Shane ducking Filler in 9-ball.

Mike dechaine vs an apa 9 …

I hope he does well, but I’m not optimistic. I know his Fargo is ~800 but can’t imagine he’s a top 10-15 player in the United States right now. I watched him play Roland Garcia at the DCC (can’t remember if it was this year or last year) and he got destroyed. One bad roll led to a bad miss or...

Rules for gorst SVB race to 120

There was a lot of Kaci slander on Facebook after he offered either SVB or Fedor the first break. I don't get the sense he's the type of guy to run his mouth on Facebook and not have the stones to back it up - I'd love to see him play the winner. Of particular note were all the folks on Kaci...

    2024 World Pool Championship

I don’t understand why this is so hard for people to understand. Matchroom is trying to develop a marketable product, and sometimes that goes beyond the financial interests of individual players. As an alternative, we could turn the clock a few years where the winner of the World 9-ball won...

    2024 World Pool Championship

This wasn’t your local $20 entry fee rated 8 ball event finishing up at 4am. Little different circumstances here. If this were true then the difference in prize money for 1st and 2nd wouldn’t matter. This is a delusional take

“Great pool” is at least, in part, defined by the stakes involved.

    2024 World Pool Championship

Yeah well assuming it’s true it wouldn’t have happened after the fact. I’ll lose a lot of respect for both players (particularly fedor) if true
