Pan Xiao-Ting deserves to be champion

No, you can definitely get from Taiwan to China but much harder the other way. Its also very similar for PROC citizens to leave mainland china on foreign excursions due to government regulations. The highest allowed citizen visa (besides educational/study abroad) is a 2 yr term agreement where...

    The Break Cue Lie

perhaps you might wish to rephrase the 8-ball statement. I believe that the existence of most of the popular break or jump break cues today are due to the 9-ball crazy the last 20-30 years. They were designed so that players with weaker strokes were able to create more cue ball speed in order...

Thank you from The Pool Room in Duluth, GA.

Thanks again John for hosting this event. I had a great time participating and competing. The competition was fierce and the action was hot! The Duluth Pool Room is surely on a class of its own! My congratulation to Dennis Hatch for winning the main event and to Stevie Moore for playing his...

    I'm scared of the 8

what works for me is to pretend that you have to win twice as many games as you really are. That way you won't choke as much if you get to the last money ball to win the set b/c you still tell yourself you have a lot more games to go.

    Radial Pin or Not?

I'm pretty sure Tony Watson doesn't own a cue anymore. I noticed he borrows cues from everyone at every tournament he plays in. Also a quick fix if the radial isn't tightning well is to wrap a tiny piece of toilet paper around the pin and screw it in. The paper will semi-adhere to the inside of...

    updates from the viking event?

Wow, what an upset with Archer and Stoney's Match! That last game got everyone on their feet. I was surprised that he couldn't get out with 2 balls in hand on the last rack. I guess everyone has a bad day.

Is SIX POCKETS pool hall still open?

Its still there to the best of my knowledge. Its on Beach Blvd. 1/2 mile west of St. John's Bluff Rd. right across the street from Bank Shots and SAM's Club. Next to a subdivision called Lantana Lakes. Although know I think Bank Shots is more of the action spot, or Park Ave. if you're closer to...

validity of Platinum Billiards break cue ratings

Thanks for your reply Richard. I really admire your innovative product and ingenuity. I was actually lucky enough to break a few racks with the original X-breaker a little while back and was very surprised in how well it performed. IMO I believe the X-breaker is the best break cue out there...

validity of Platinum Billiards break cue ratings

Hey Shane, I don't know if this has been brought up before but is there any chance Platinum Billiards would be willing to test the X-Breaker, the original and the new Samsara versions? I'm willing to bet a few people on here would be interested in seeing how they perform. Best of prosperity...

Shot by Shot Story of the $50K game between Chao and Bustamante in 2001

Amazing shots are many and far apart. Just watch Reyes and his spectacular plays. The more one is observant about the game, the more one will learn the "impossible" shots. Scotty Townsend will put a ball on the spot and the cue ball on the end rail in the kitchen and cut the object ball clean in...

    filipino cue makers

I've got an old JAZZ cue made by Tony Bautista. Its pretty simple in design but the hit is great. I don't know if I'll ever part with it even though I don't play with it anymore but when I do get a chance to bang some balls around, it just feels very natural in my hands. BTW, does anyone on...
