Why does leather make the best tip?

Yeah, and the price is going up since Michael Jackson volunteered for the harvesting position - provided he could work only with 'juvenile' rhinos.

    Get out from here......(champions only)

spelling Low percentage??!! I'll empty my pockets that I can hit the shot as described and I'll even lay you 7-5, how's that for low percentage?! Anywhere you hit on the third rail between the first and second diamond is a guaranteed hit on the 1 ball, and the lower you hit the more likely...

    Get out from here......(champions only)

Please!! I mean, give me a hard one... START( %AC8J0%FC7L3%GT3_0%PD0M9%QB9D5%Ur5Y8%Vk4[3%WD1I0%XC3H1%YD3G1 %ZG9D3%[H6D1%\s1Y1%]j2Z9%^D4N4%eC0`3 )END I hope that comes out right - you know the cue ball is going to shoot long off the fourth rail, should clip the 1 and leave it close to the 6...

    Get out from here......(champions only)

The way I see it the key to the rack is the 4 5 6 transition. making the 4 is one thing, getting on the five with a good angle to get on the six is another (the nine is occupying valuable real estate, as is the 8). I would probably look to go one rail from the 1 to the 2, looking to get to...

    racking The Balls.........

I will - if the wing ball is slightly dislodged from the ball behind it, its chances of going are massively increased. If there is a gap between the nine ball and the ball behind it, its chances of going are greatly increased as well. The most common method of undermining an opponent's break...

    question for experienced players

2 - jump break cue and a playing cue with one shaft I've owned several in the past, but I keep coming back to the same one I've been using for years. I'll probably stick with it too - my theory is that once you find a cue you play well with you should stick with it, forever if possible.

    Snooker. . .

Nobody in America will have a clue what we're talking about here, but the actual highest break record for English billiards is in the neighborhood of 433,000, and no, I'm not making that up. It was done in the 1920's, I think, and took about 4 weeks.

When you win$ do you pick up the time?

The mistake y'all made was winning that war. Gives southerners the right to pick on you for all eternity :)

Holy crap... I just figured out why pool is not TV popular.

I think it's very funny how people on this board keep trying to come up with ideas to make the general public watch pool on TV. I got news for you folks, the desired audience for pool telecasts is YOU, not the general public. Who watches NASCAR - the general public? Hell no! NASCAR is...

    Announcers & Bad Roll/Break Comments

Here's a bad roll, you're in an NY hotel and you throw your cell phone and it hits someone in the head. Result, arrest for aggravated assault and a certain multi-million dollar lawsuit. Poor Russell Crowe.

Why a 10 ball tour won't work (IMO)

Hear hear! The biggest issue with televised pool is that the pockets are the size of watermelons. If they tightened them up to something resembling professional standards the game would be much more enjoyable to watch. The way things are now it takes more effort to miss a ball than it does to...

Gamblers - What is the stickiest situation?

one time in the old Seymour in Vancouver I was playing a pimp and was up about $2000, but I noticed that after every game another one of his friends came up and stood around the table. It started to feel very bad (this was about the worst place in the world at the time and the guy was a...

What Got You To The Next Level?

I agree with this 100%. Kicking and safety ability are what separates the good from the great, as well as having a solid break. Watch a couple of 3 cushion videos and this aspect of your game will soar. In terms of the other question I've never taken a lesson, and never read an instructional...

    First time ??????

I vaguely remember some friends of my parents having a table in their basement. My dad and his friend played a game or two while we were over there for dinner and I remember watching very closely, but I can definately recall forgetting that there was a white ball you used to hit the others into...

    How are your morals?

I read all the responses before posting - these are my standards but bear in mind I only play very serious games: - I will never take a win if a player 'failed to patch' a pocket, presuming his shot was an obvious one, unless forced to do so by the referee as in some pro tournaments. If we're...

How to get rid of the shot clock.

I'd like it, because nobody can play that way and be any good and I never care how long a match takes if I'm the winner. Dealing with slow players is just a part of being a well-rounded player. Using their actions at the table as an excuse for losing or getting out of your game is a huge...

27 Different Ways To Strike A Shot

But surely not if you're also hitting those points with a cue tip of limited size? Well now that I say that maybe you're right. That would also means that there's an infinite number of speed variables as well. Thus you end up with infinite x infinite, or infinite squared. If we assign xx as...

    The Top $$$ Earning Cues

Worldwide the answer is PowerGlide, the cue with which Stephen Hendry has won more than $15 million playing snooker. In the pool world, I think the answer has to be Cuetech, since Earl won pretty much all of his titles with one and Allision has played with one exclusively since she switched to...
