$2,000 Added Kro Bar Singles - Brule, WI

18 days until the tourney, and we're about half full. I know pool players wait until the last minute to sign up, so I'm sure more will sign up. We might not hit the max of 80 players, but that would be ok, then we won't be so crowded and crunched for time. If you're wondering about the money...

Should I make a pool guide for bar players?

To the OP: Do what you want, you're gonna anyway. To everyone else: Is it just me, or does this kinda seem like that guy talking about those "Ghosts of the Megalodon" shafts? They were gonna be the best thing since sliced bread. He'd never stopped talking about it, but nothing ever came of it...

    Best glue for tips??

Loctite Ultra Control Gel is probably the most recommended glue for tips by cue makers and repairmen. After scuffing the back of the tip, prime it with thin CA (super glue). Then glue it to the cue with Loctite.

How long does it take you to get in stroke?

To steal a line from Tom Wasserman: "It used to take me 3 shots to warm up. Now I'm tired after 3 games."

    G10 Pin Question

G10 is just one material from which joint pins are made. 3/8-10 is just one size & thread count in which joint pins are made. Just because both have a "10" in the name doesn't mean they're the same. It's like asking will a 3/8-10 OB shaft fit on my stainless steel pin?

    Thank You, OB Cues!

No, sorry, custom ring work is the the responsibility of the cue maker. Had the rings been factory OB work, I'd bet they would cover it.

Is there any harm in breaking with your playing cue?

The only damage you'll do is smash down your playing tip a little, and maybe ding up the clear coat of your cue against the table. Otherwise, if you can't break with a playing cue, what good is it?

    Welcome to the insanity.

please help problem with predator uniloc shaft

Since it fits on one cue with a Uni-Loc Quick Release pin, it stands to reason that the shaft must have a Uni-Loc QR insert. Sometimes crud (industry term) builds up on the QR pin. Clean the pin with a piece of 600 grit sand paper. If that doesn't fix it, take it to a cue repair guy.

    Cue repair...What am I missing?

Quickly looking around my shop, here's what you're missing for cue repairs (if you're going to build cues, this list would be MUCH longer): 30 different kinds of tips Thin CA to prime the back of the tip Half a dozen different kinds of ferrules, G-10 and Phenolic 2 part epoxy (5 minute and 30...

    Thank You, OB Cues!

Recently, I sent a couple shafts back to OB for warranty replacement. I've heard nightmare stories from other pool players when they've sent their cues/shafts back to other companies (not OB). Needless to say, I was more than curious to see how my experience would pan out. Let me just say that...

    Installing tip on Cuetech

Yup. I prime both the tip and ferrule, spray both with accelerator, and scuff off the high points. I just always have problems with Cuetechs. No other cues, ferrules, or tips. Just those dang Cuetechs. Oh well. Thanks!

    Installing tip on Cuetech

I did a search already, but there's a million responses. So... Is it just me, or does anyone else have problems with tips sticking to Cuetech ferrules? I prime the back of the tip with thin CA. I use Loctite Ultra Control Gel. I give the glue ample time to fully cure. I avoid heat build up...

    Looking for League Operators advice

It depends what you're looking for. If nobody in the league cares about going to state or national tourneys just run an independent league. No sanction fees required, more money back to the players. If state or national tourneys are wanted, then I would suggest BCAPL. They really don't care how...

When the beautiful girls walking around big tournaments raffling off cue sticks get ignored, but guys clamor around to check out the stick. :)

    Leather wrap

As a cue maker, I have no preference in leather wrap. My prices are structured so that I make money no matter what wrap I install. Also as a cue maker, I prefer no wrap because that gives me 11"-12" more inches to decorate with inlays, or to let a beautifully grained piece of wood strut it's...

    Leather wrap

What criteria are you using to determine "best"? Durability? Feel? Cost effectiveness? Easy of installation? Looks?

Room Size for a Pool Table

Yes, you are correct. And the other guys talking about the importance of a couple extra inches here and there - they're correct, too. But here's the thing. In my first post, I said, "the quick and easy answer is..." I wasn't giving the exact dimensions required for an architect. Second of all, I...

Room Size for a Pool Table

    4-1/2' x 9' = 54" x 108" So, 4 or 8 inches makes a BIG difference? In a lot of things, yes. But in a "what size room do I need..." discussion, I don't think so.
