    Reyes clearly the best ever

wrong about balkline Reyes is a great pool player, without a doubt. But, you are quite wrong about Efren being the best balkline player in the world - and wrong on the spelling, too (no space). Efren couldn't hold a candle up to Frederic Caudron - he's not even in the same league. However...

Nice videos in the AZTV section

not really paltry Torbjorn actually has a better knowledge and respect of balkline than some people seem to be suggesting. He has recently developed renewed interest in its value for his game to spend time practicing it. I heard that his free-game average was around 11 or 12 very early on...

Why is Caroms not so popular in America?

I would definitely add Jan Carl (CaromTV.com) to your list of people that are making a big difference in getting 3-cushion billiards "out there"... -Ira

How do you raise your game.

www.carom3d.com has a game that is extremely accurate wrt caroms. Easy to install, use, and play 3-cushion online with people. It was created overseas in a carom playing country so the angles are quite accurate.

Do You Know This Shot? #1 (Torbjorn Blomdahl / Jeanette Lee)

The shot is "bigger" when hit with a fast speed in order to get long enough from that angle... If you hit it too slow, the english takes too much on the 2nd rail (making it shorter) and you get too little on the 3rd rail (making it shorter). -Ira

    Post your high run

Please take a pic. I'd love to see it an Olhausen carom table. Don' just think about dropping by the Sang Lee event. Just do it - you'll be glad you did. Most players shoot with Moori S or M.

    Post your high run

Forget the averages, guys... what I'd like to know is - when did Olhausen start making 5x10 billiard tables? Actually, I'd like to see an American table manufacturer start making heated 3-cushion tables.... ;) -Ira

help finding a place to play

They should not use 860 or 760 for billiards - both of those grades of Simonis are designed for pool. Carom billiards should use Simonis 300 Rapide. -Ira

    Post your high run

Based on the information contained in your post, you ARE playing as a 2.0 avg player. 25 points in 11 innings is an average of 2.273 (25 divided by 11). You also posted another game earlier in which you averaged 2.0 again. Evidently, you have the capability of competing against world class...

    Post your high run

Glad to see you're having fun playing 3-cushion. It's a great game, played at any level. I noticed that you are probably not familiar with how averages are kept in the 3-cushion world. If you really averaged 2.0 in 3-cushion, then you would be the best player in the world (that ever lived...

Help ID player ... Sbarboti ???

Probably Vince Sparbatti - owner of the old Spar Billiards in NYC (midtown) was a regular customer at Sang Lee Billiards in the 90's. He was an avid 3-cushion player (~.750) and a very eccentric independently wealthy man that used to drive around in a very large bright pink Rolls Royce - which...

Will one shaft spin the cb better than another? Will one tip miscue more than another

It's not a myth...shafts make a huge difference on cue ball action The differing characteristics of shaft woods GREATLY affect the degree and consistency of spin that one can apply to the cue ball. Anyone who states that this is a common myth in billiards is either considering a narrower...
