Yes, for most places that play *real* 8 Ball, it is call pocket. I found BCA 8 Ball rules are fairly standard for tournament play. They need a 3 foul rule, however... Don't know about the IPT rules. Read the BCA website and you will get a good start. They have to be real similar.

I too had a table in an apt at one time. I shoved it in a corner but it was a great practice table. Since I could use 1 long and 1 short rail, I could practice just about any shot. My game improved real fast. I think everybody should consider putting one in a corner if they do not have a big room...

In leagues or tournaments that do not allow called safeties, I just call the ball in a different pocket (make it in the corner but call it in the side) makes people mad but I play to win :)

I think 4.5 is a good size. I really start to lose some shots any tighter than that :( IMO, new Simonis pockets balls easier since it is slicker. Balls slide in of the facings easier. thats why the TV matches always have impossible shots fall which make the pockets look big.
