    Racking Nonsense

I have edited the post you quoted to apologize for my insulting language posted while under the influence of alcohol.... but to answer your question, yes, racking in the same exact place every time will create divots in the cloth no matter how it is accomplished. But the indentions from our...

    Racking Nonsense

[Edit] I was drunk last night when I made this post and I apologize for my iinsults... but we did consider these other two options when designing the Rack-M-Rite Racking Template and onsidered them unsuitable for professional play and our template has been used in more pro tournaments than any...

Tutorial rack on a 10-footer by Max Eberle

Max is a great shooter and a great guy. I've known him since he was fouteen I think and his late mother started bringing him to tournaments. He beat one of the best players from southern Maryland at that age at the first tournament where I met him. He is a real student of the game.

    What is the best Rack

The original perfect racking device is the Rack-M-Rite Racking Template/tapping mat. Nothing beats the speed for 10 ball and 8 ball or straight pool. Used in more tournaments than any imitation.

2012 AZ Billiards Straight Pool Challenge!

Keep up the great shooting Bobby, I'd like to see you in some of these tournament videos or just a run video. Notes on my run of 91... not a deep shelf but corner and side pockets slightly under 4 and 4.5 inche, cloth was installed new near end of 20th century removed and reinstalled a few...

2012 AZ Billiards Straight Pool Challenge!

Thanks... appreciate that. I was trying really hard to break 50 , which can be a real challenge on this table, for the fkirst time tbhis year. The balls were opening well and I should still be shooting but I clipped a ball trying to get too good on the next ball so I could be sure and not...

    Spin on break ball?

I don't think so. Very little if any.

2012 AZ Billiards Straight Pool Challenge!

Keep at it. You did the hard part. Break shots are hard to control, even if you get good ones to shoot at, and especially under less than ideal table conditions (new cloth and clean/polished balls). That's what makes the game so addictive and challenging.

You can put me down for a 37 on 4" pockets, Andy. Hope to improve on that soon.

A potentially new take on pocket cuts?

I think Nathan is right about the way the openings and shelf affect the game. But the more the rail is extended into the pocket to make the opening smaller, the shorter the shelf will be anyway, so most tables play more fair the more they are shimmed in my experience. Will a diamond with 3 and...

    Danny Medina

I think the final match was downstairs with the wrestling announcer and smoke and crap. I was there also. Danny ran out on everybody the whole tournament. He won it the same way Earl did, nearly 100% offense.

Pool players, mental conditions, and drugs

There have been many discussions on AZ about how drugs affect playing ability and player behavior. This is a full length documentary exposing the dangers of psychotropic drugs prescribed by doctors and the massive profits involved in the drugging of America...

    why do tables rack bad?

http://www.epbf.com/organ/rules/Eurotour_2010_Regulations.pdf On the EURO Tour all tables are tapped using a racking template/tapping mat system originally patented by me and Dale Craig as the Rack-M-Rite Racking Template. The template has several advantages over tapping balls held in place in...

    Black (new) Magic Rack?

The table for the Strickland/Van Boening match was not tapped using a template as the Euro Tour event tables are tapped. It was tapped holding the balls tight in a rack, which does not make the balls freeze the same way as template tapping does. Template tapping makes the balls lean in toward...

    Loading the 9-ball Rack

It wasn't the first time I saw lots of tight racks. The Sardo and my Rack-M-Rite Racking Template/tapping mat system (patented in 2000), which has since been used on the Euro Tour for years, came out at about the same time. We were in Valley Forge when the Sardo was first used in a WPBA...

    Loading the 9-ball Rack

It is dead if you break from near the side rail with a frozen rack.

What's the best rack for 14.1?

Yes, I saw that. Earl tapped the balls in without using a template in the Van Boening match from what I understand. I'm not sure how he went about that process in that match or the Archer match. If you hold the balls frozen in position and tap them down, the spacing of the indents will be an...
