    The Canadian Snooker Championships 2012

Thanks for posting this thread. Poor little PEI has no representation on the CBSA site. It's sad to me the way the game has faded away completely here to the point where there's not enough tables in the whole province to have a real tournament even if you could gather them together. The one...

    Can't believe Ronnie.

I pity you, so cynical all the time. I wonder if you are getting enough vitamin D. The other day, you were on about how O'Sullivan was done in like an old rag and should retire. Now you can't wait for all these other players who are apparently in it only for the money to get out of the way...

    World Snooker Proffesional Championships 2012

Well, I think Ali Carter deserves a lot of kudos. He was totally discounted by everyone. I, for one, would enjoy a Carter vs. O'Sullivan final.

Sadly work gets in the way for me. I've missed many of the matches.

    World Snooker Proffesional Championships 2012

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times. Don't exaggerate. Even if there's a bit of a gap, new players will emerge.

    Help settle an argument

I've seen at least 3 crappy roll ups since this post.

I think you need to give these guys a break. The game has changed somewhat and things are just shaking out right now. These guys are the new breed. They just aren't the new breed you were expecting. Give them time.

Heh heh heh. Maybe. I am going to go with wishful thinking and root for the opposite.

    World Snooker Proffesional Championships 2012

In the match with Higgins, one stat jumped out at me. Long pot success percentage in the 50's. If he rectifies that, Hendry can go all the way once again. If his will falters, anyone remaining on the tournament can beat him, not just Maguire. It's like when Watson won the Masters in golf. He...

Oh yeah, in case you haven't heard, Ronnie looks really up for his match.

    World Snooker Proffesional Championships 2012

It looks like it may go to a 9-9 decider in Ding vs. Day. I think the momentum is with Day at the moment. Ding seemed to take his foot right off the gas after frame 14. However, he's very good. I don't think he can be counted out by any stretch. I hope I don't have to leave for work before it's...

Well, you know what they say. I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

    World Snooker Proffesional Championships 2012

Thanks. Having seen it, I believe it is not easy to tell at all. Only someone nearby looking at it from the side could be sure if the cue remained in contact with the white when it struck the red. In any event, if Allen had a problem with it, he should have taken his concern to the tournament...

If you don't like the commentary, you could plug your ears, or failing that, shoot yourself in the head. He's a snooker legend and a genuine person by all accounts. Who cares if he has a tendency to repeat himself? There are people I'd rather listen to also, but he's not bad at all.

Yeah, that was a lovely shot by Reyes but not helpful. Thanks for playing. Anyone have a video of the shot in question? Anyway, 2 interesting matches in progress right now. Ebdon is off to a good start but I have a feeling Ronnie will take it.

Mark Allen Calls For Hearn To Quit !

I think it's a pathetic display. Every time he opens his mouth, something slimy crawls out. If he doesn't like the conditions he should consider another career. But wait. Oh yeah, he's making boatloads of money, so he would be a fool to quit. Gee, I wonder how that came to be? He's just a young...

    Help settle an argument

I agree with Steve Davis. It is not easy, at least not at distance and when the pressure of competition is placed on one's shoulders. I don't recall the specific tournament, but when doing commentary, he has made comments about the roll up shot on many occasions. I'm no pro, but it seems to me...

An idea to increase interest in Canada

All joking aside, I see this as neither difficult nor undesirable. But it needs grass-roots support from pool room owners to have teaching and competitions suitable for juniors.
