whats the longest you've ever used one cue, 2 years? 20?

bought an ivory joint Joss around 1970. It came with 2 shafts and a Fellini case. Been using it ever since. Tried many others, but really saw no reason to change. Like to have someone knowledgeable give me an estimate on the selling price, as the docs tell me I haven't got a lot of time to...

    14.1 Running a 100 without Qball touching a rail?

Although I did not witness it, a source that I consider reputable told me that Harold Worst once ran two consecutive 14.1 racks without the cueball touching a rail. I only saw him play on one occasion, but if anyone could run two racks without a rail being touched, he probably was the guy. A...

    Butterfly MASTER!!!!!!!

All I have to say is: IT'S ABOUT TIME!. Billy's cues are made with old school craftsmanship that is not easily found today. Haven't seen Bill's work since he relocated in AR, but his passion for perfection is reflected in every aspect of his work. Not trying to detract from the other highly...

    Cues on the Joss website...

Nice to know that your political leanings seem to justify the ignorance expressed in your post. By my rough count, responses are about 40 to 1 that you are full of fecal matter. If Joss really puts out such a shoddy product, their advertising staff should get an award of some kind for keeping...

Why is the snooker stance different?

I think that with the chin in actual contact with the cue, it serves as a part of the bridge. Also, the long view down an unobstructed shaft seems to serve as an aiming device. There is no doubt IMHO that the top 16 snooker players have near identical stances, strokes and table mechanics...

How long have you been playing with your cue?

Had the same old ivory joint Joss in the same old Fellini case for around 40 years now... still hits the ball better than I do!

    Unknown "monster" players

Jay; Dan and Rich are top players, but I think if you ask them about George "Whitey" Michaels from Tacoma, they will tell you that he was the BEST one-pocket player in the Pac NW ever. I watched him play Ronnie Allen 9-8/8-8 when Ronnie was hitting them good, and Ronnie I believe broke even...

An Unfortunate Incident Involving J&D (Jim Lee) Cues

I have no dog in this fight, but the entire situation seems ludicrous. Go down to your local Ford dealer, order the Mustang(or whatever) of your dreams, put substantial money down, and then let the dealer BS you for months as to why you don't have your car yet. He's been ill? Too bad, but he...

Bank Shot Calculator receives hudge interest in Vegas.

Some guy tried to pitch this to me in the elevator at the Riviera. When I asked him about things like damp cloth, heated tables and cue elevation angles, he really didn't seem to have any answer except "it works". Like to know if anyone with one of these gizmos really thinks that it is...

    Stream Question

That is the way I watch most of them. No commentary at all. My years of experience enable me to tell if a ball goes into the pocket or not. The commentary, especially with 9 and 10-ball usually goes like this: " Well Danny, he has just made a good shot on the three. Now, he'll try to pocket...

    YEA!! She's gone

Does anyone know what this guy is talking about? I think he has a possilble career in meteorology, but he says he doesn't know weather.

Foul or no foul? You be the ref.

IMHO ---- it was a good hit.

    Winning one pocket

This is the only book that really tells it all. I found Shots, Moves and Strategies interesting too. Some of the shots described are above my skill level, (not good at jumping the QB off a rail), but others have proven very valuable. As for the money, it's up to you. Both books are good reads.

history of 5x10's in the US?

In San Francisco in the mid-60's Cochran's still had mostly 5x10 ft. tables. I was a kid who had been playing on a fairly tight Gold Crown and didn't think there could be much difference. Was I ever wrong! Every time I think about the old-timers who ran 300+ with clay balls, I am amazed...

STICKY - For Those Needing 25 Posts For Full AZB Access

I totally agree. Let the "pundits" feed their egos by issuing their 10,000th post. I use the forum the way you do, and don't think I'm causing tumors on anyone.

    1 pocket fouls.

In any event, far more honest than Richie. What does he do if his opponent calls a foul on him when there is none? Maybe he would dispute that call? Earl's maxim notwithstanding, a foul is still just the one thing, and the player who does not call it on himself cheats his opponent, himself...

What does it take to convince you of extraordinary claims?

This has got to be one of the funniest videos EVER! Re Rule #34, I am sure that there are many players like Cory D., Gabe Owen, et. al, that would just love to get down with the guy in the hat for $1000 a rattle. If his method is SO good, how come no one ever heard of him? Does he market this...

    Inside Pool Mag: Fraud

Disability is an issue that is fraught with circumstance. There are many people who appear to be healthy but have debilitating problems that will not let them perform a normal 40-hour a week job. I do not think that those who defraud the system are anything less than criminals. I do think...

Stevie Moore's Rules argument with Justin

Everyone seems to be studiously ignoring Johnnyt's post regarding Vegas sportsbook betting. If you are old enough to know what and who he is referring to, then you probably know he's right. Do you suppose that snooker would have ever reached the pinnacle it did in England if all those fans...
