Gene don't know you brother; have followed you escapades here with excitement. Losing a family member is never easy and I wish you the very best and condolences. I once called you for one of your infamous phone teachings and you helped me through some stuff and spent 2 hours on the phone with me. I'll never forget that. May god bless you and may you get ahead and all your balls roll straight !

Unreal last night..........

Stopped at the Brickyard to say hi to the gang.

There was Bobby D Sr playing some $50 one pocket and Tommy playing $1000 sets on the bar table.

It was fun to see the battles are still going on at the Brickyard and that was pretty late. about midnite for sure.

Checked into the Motel 6. You know the one they leave the lights on for you.

Checked for bedbugs as I usually do now.

Got everything in and set up, takes about an hour. Got lots of stuff. On the road all the time.

There was a big old bed bug. The biggest one I had ever seen looking me right in the face. He had climbed on my foam .
pad which is yellow so he stuck out just lke a bedbug on a yellow foam pad.

Picked him up and took him to the office and got another room.

Thank goodness there were no bites to report in the morning.

We dodged another bullit (Bedbug) last night.

Still on the journey to Wisconsin.i

Hey Gene! You and I have played a lot of pool together in the KC area, we were usually in the finals and then we would play backgammon for a little fun action. I always enjoyed your company and I wish you all the best.

actual rankings go like this

Actually on the contrary, here is the scale used in the GSBT if you are unfamiliar with it, it is not similar to league ratings:

03 = C player
04 = B player
05 = A- player
06 = A player
07 = AA player
08 = A+++
09 = Shortstop
10 = Semi Pro
11 = World Class Pro

So unless I was at least a low A- player then I am not even supposed to be a 5 in the GSBT.

04 is a pretty broad spectrum from a low B- to a strong B+ player. I do fall somewhere in that category and so does Cheryl Pritchard, Asia Cy, and even the manager of Randolph's.

03 = D player
04 = D+ player
05 = C player
06 = C+ player
07 = B player
08 = B+ player
09 = A player
10 = A+
11 = AA player

I played in the old format as a B player and went to 7 to win and I play now as a 7 under the new format and I have played in mulitple tournaments in both formats. They changed the format to try to get more players involved and to give weaker players more of a chance

about a 6 in league is the equivalent of a 4 on the GSBT. Aimee Kilby from Randolph's is a 6 in league. I have seen some 7's in league play as a 4 on GSBT and can't win

They changed it, a 3 is all players up to C+

Here is an example of three legitimate skill level 4's all of whom are between B- to B+ in the GSBT under the new rankings:

I lost money gambling with her in Raleigh at Brass Tap.

She beat me in an even race to 4 in Albermarle, she also played Gene in the U.S. Open and scored better on the 9 footer vs Gene than on the barbox.

Top 1k! Cool Rhea, keep it up!

I been away from my computer for a few days.

I just read your Story Gene,

You have been down a very tough and winding road Gene, but it seems as of today you are stronger in every department.

You keep doing what you are doing Gene, this is what you were ment to do in your life Gene.

MOM is gone now, but you must believe she is very happy for you, cause you are doing what makes you happy and strong!

GOD BLESS MOM, for Her very long life has ended, But FOR Her SON GENE his life still goes on, getting stronger and stronger as days go by!

Nothing but the Best for Gene and Rhea! AMEN.

Thanks I couldn't remember her name that's the lady I played for 11 hours races to 7 for $100 over and over and broke even, guess that makes me a 6 in league in the NC area.

Having fun now...........

With the funeral over I went over to my sons to hit some balls. It's been a few days and i wanted to see where I was at.

To my surprise I was still pounding them in just like last weekend.

I'm kind of sick so I told Rhea that i didn't want to go to the Black Bear Casino tourny that starts next thursday but I quickly changed my mind after playing a few sets with my son.

The meds I got to stop these siezures Is great. I don't wake up with my whole body wrecked everyday. this had went on for 7 months.

Hardly missing any shots. It's just real fun again.

I'll be playing at the Black Bear 8 ball and 9 ball Thursday and Friday.

See ya all there.

Cab't wait///////////

Had a 5 beat me 5 to 4 first set on the hill.........

And his buddies from Murtle Beach told me I wouldn't like playing him before we played.

I won the second set 11 to 4. I felt like I was trying to outrun the nutz every time i stepped up to the table

I was the underdog for sure in this tourny.

But it's great for pool and fills up the rooms. it's good to see the chairs full and this will do it.

I heard about 6 players making comments to others that they felt like they were under rated in this tourny.

That's great.

I hope they a;; keep coming back everywhere.

These things eat every seven days............

are you sure you weren't carrying that bed bug around with you?

I have learned how to get rid of these things. About 5 times in the last year.

I check pretty good but this time I didn't see the little pucker until I put my foam pad on the bed and then lifted it up about 5 minutes later. As soon as he smelled meat he was ready for dinner.

These critters like to stay right by the bed that they are at. No need to go much further. Supper is on the way.

Indianapolis is a bad place for bedbugs. I got them there 3 times in different motels. Some areas are worse than others.

They like it dark also. Don't like the cars at all.

One hotel I was at they told me the maintenance mans room was infested for months. He just slept with the light on. They won't come out then.

We escaped without any bites this time.

Thank goodness..............

Off to the Black Bear Casino..........

John Stitch runs a great tourny up there each year.

I'm going up there to see what i can do. Not much playing with the funeral and I had the flu for about 10 days

Maybe I can get in stroke as i go. Shouldn't take long. These pills for the siezures seem to be doing the trick as far as my focus goes.

See everyone there and i will bring Rhea, a bunch of DVD's and myself.

I might even play on one of the teams in case someone doesn't show up.

I might make a good sub for sure.

See ya all there at the Black bear casino.............

Might need to take some time off............

I thought i could do this but it just isn't working out.

After my mothers funeral i just need some time with family and friends. I might have to put this whole pool world on hold for awhile.

I'm at this great tourny and just couldn't care less. Just need a little time to heal..

As for rhea i need to find someplace for her to go. I'm sure she won't want to just sit in Eau Claire for as long as this might take.

One man a van and the road......

There's no roadmap on this one Gene. Follow your heart, you'll know when you know. My best buddy, Matt,

The grieving process has its own personal clock. The length of time for grieving can have little to do with how much you loved someone. It's different for each of us.

Grieving eventually morphs into just missing someone, which is grieving with less pain and less of the other baggage items. It's natural, just don't try to fight it. Gene, you'll know when to roll.
