Can there be any other person who gets this year's DCC award beside the infamous "Dippy "Viffer" Dave?

It's hard to tell. I think they should just give Dippy the Hustler Award.

The last few days usually have some of the crazier matchups plus people cant hold their bank rolls forever. The Dump City Classic, I mean Derby City Classic is always interesting.

I nominate Rob from Ohio for the best heist of the DCC with that hijacking of Hager last night.

I will vote on SVB

I hope Dippy does not get it. I don't find him entertaining at all, and the award is for action AND entertainment.

Sure, he's got his moments with funny comments, but I can't stand watching him play, so for me there is absolutely zero entertainment value when he is in action.

I admire that he is willing to play the big guns for large sums of money, but he's not worthy the award imo.

Maybe you would like to FACE-OFF with Dippy Dave, you NIT! Oh, I forgot, I'm not mad at you, at least not right now. Still, I'm not sure you could beat Dippy Dave even up and if he gets you betting real high......well you know what would happen.

If he offers me 8-6, or the last 3 in 9-ball, I would of course consider playing a set with him. But not for more than a $ 100

Hager gave this Rob fella 16-5 or 16-4, I forget exactly, and the break to go with it. They played 5 ahead for at least $5k. I don't think Hager even won a game and if he did I was in the bathroom, it was over very quickly with Hager on the bad side of it.

Dippy beat this Rob dude getting 10-8 in a race to 7 by the score of 7-1 for $10k. Now Rob can get more weight than Dippy.

I have to agree i find it pretty sickening actually to watch dippy play, talking to himself in the 3rd person his HORRIBLE mechanics and actually asking for that much weight...i have always believed if you cant beat someone straight up then you shouldnt play them. the most weight i have ever asked for (seriously anyway) was the 7 and out from svb and actually broke even with him after 4 sets (i won the first 2 he won the next 2 and i quit) it wouldnt be so bad if he were to ask for a little bit of weight but come on i mean 15 4 in one pocket? and i think shane gave him a ridiculous spot in vegas and beat him...either way that goes he just looks bad imo because if he wins people dont really acknowledge the win because its such a huge spot and if he loses people just say well thats what you get when you try and run with the big dogs when your just a chiuaha. of course this is all IMO

I wouldn't vote for Dave. Stupidity is only entertaining for short periods.
Shane or any number of true players are far more deserving of the Louie award.

This is just my opinion but I have been at the Derby for three nights and everywhere Dippy goes there is a crowd following and he is either in action or trying to get some action, I know a lot of people don't like him but the Louie award is action and entertainment and Dippy has been generating a lot of both, again just what I have opinion of what I have seen.

St Louie Louis and the Dipster

I'm with you on this one.
Dave's detractors wouldn't have liked it around the Rack in Detroit...
,,there was a whole room full of guys like him....

He's loud and brash and bets his cash

What clinched it for me was a move with the Freezer.
Dippy was shooting when Scott walked past the pocket and talking
loud...obviously still upset about their past action.
Dippy made the shot and then went to the TAR booth and offered to
pay Scott $500 to commentate...which was accepted.

We're talking serious aplomb here...
..and as usual he was playing a champion...Cliff Joyner

Now,,,, that's funny

Aah, Joey, Joey, Joey. You just have to know how to out-hustle the hustlers! I'm assuming you are referring to Roy sh!itting his pants if he bets that high. Well, you just have to go into the bet prepared for the bet. If you think that might be a problem, you just wear white pants and no underwear for the match. Then, if you do have a "problem", you can turn it against your opponent. Just keep on playing, pretty soon, that large stain on your pants will gross him out enough that he will start literally gagging. When that happens, now you own him! He won't be thinking about pool anymore, just wanting to get away from you as fast as he can!

Yeah, that's a pretty crappy way to win a match, but hey, you do what you gotta do! Always be prepared!

Absolutely funny plan of attack.......

This is a crappy post.

That's why it needs to be people who attend the Derby that get to vote. We who are sweating online only get to see the match on the TAR table. We don't get to see what is my favorite part, the entertainment of the people who, before they gamble, entertain the masses at the Horseshoe by negotiating by whatever means are necessary. I've had calls from friends who say that Viffer is very entertaining until he starts to play. IMO, he is entertaining on the table as well, but not if you're looking for ability only. If it was the "Action and Proficiency at Play Award", it might be questionable for Dippy. But according to everyone there, he has provided more action and as much entertainment as anyone at the Derby.

I know the talk is about Dippy, but I think Jay Helfert needs a nod for the A&E award. He set up the AZB/1p challenge room, and there was no lack of action there. All the Pros were there ponying up the bucks and trying to take it down. Jay also had a $1000 bounty for a 60 ball run on the 1p challenge.....I know he was sweating a few runs there!!! Maybe there were no $10k matches, but Jay kept it fun bantering with the guys, and they were attempting to win right up til the end!

Jay Helfert is making a legacy for himself. :clapping:

He is everywhere, with everyone, managing, promoting, commentating, presenting, directing, and being a professional at every twist and turn; always making a class show wherever he goes. Jay doesn't get paid what he is worth and that's fo' shizzle.

His fast, little legs will continue to carry him everywhere he wants to go.
