Close set favors Ko. He's been winning tough the entire time, SVB hasn't had this type of heat in these late stages. I think we're heading for a fantastic runner up finish
 
Ko appeared to be running out but jaws the seven. It's safety play now and SVB has a big opportunity to "break serve." SVB plays a nice safety and Ko must kick. Ko hits the seven but scratches off the object ball. With the eight next to the seven, SVB opts to bank the seven in the side but misses it. Ko misses long bank of the seven but flukes a safety so out comes the SVB jump cue. Tries to jump in the seven in the side but fails. Leaves Ko a very long seven, but Ko is up to it and runs out.

Ko will feel he got away with one here and SVB will surely feel he squandered a great opportunity here. Psychologically, this was a key rack in this match.

Wow how many lucky and unlucky rolls did Ko get in the 9th rack to go 5-4.

I don't think he will consider it squandered. He was left with no shot twice. The fact that he shot at it both times instead of a safe told me he is playing to win. It wasn't his rack to begin with, and went for the steal.

I liked his play.

His shot in the 2 in rack 8 was amazing

1. Lucky he didn't leave Shane a shot when he missed the 7 ball.
2. Lucky that the 7 ball got extremely close to the 8 ball and didn't leave Shane a decent shot on it after Ko kicked and scratched giving Shane ball in hand.
3. Lucky that he hooked Shane behind the 9 ball after missing the bank attempt on the 7 ball.

Unreal amount of luck in that single rack.

An easy safety was available form the short side to stick Ko behind the eight, but I agree with Shane's decision to go for a bank that he'll probably make four times out of five.

Shane was unlucky in this rack, but the rack was there for the taking and he didn't close the deal.
 
finally a nice break and run for Shane. once again, 1 ball falls, and shane makes great opening shot on 2.

Ref telling Ko again to mix up the rack.
