1,000,000 Post in the Main Forum!

Actually I believe there are multiple winners. One poster was spamming the main forum with new threads when the forum got close to the 1 million mark. The moderator deleted all the threads and probably banned the user(?)

So 1 mill posts was probably reached multiple times that day:wink:

So Roy got banned????:mad: That sucks! And he is probably posting from an Iphone......

Whoah!

For someone who is reassuring us that there will be no drama, that was a pretty drama riddled post! lol

No, if you read my post as dramatic you read it the wrong way.

If there are indeed two winners, then I vote we split the winnings between the real millionth, and the main forum counter millionth. No need to have one of the two lose out completely based on a technicality.

In point of fact there is no 'real' millionth post. There are different ways to count posts and you get different results depending on which criteria you adopt. If you count posts that were originally posted in the main forum but then deleted you get one number, if you don’t you get another number. If you count posts that were originally posted in the main forum but then moved to another forum you get one number, if you don’t you get another number. If you count posts that were originally posted in the main forum but then were lost during a change of servers you get one number, if you don’t you get another number. The only way to get a specific count is to pick one set of criteria which will then give you a millionth post.

... There are different ways to count posts ....

The only count we the members see is what is displayed on the main AZ screen.
Pretty confident this is the number OP referred to when starting this thread.
You won, be happy.

My comment wasn't about deciding the contest.

I am leaning towards this also, I had Mike come and post who it was just in case and this is what has come up but it does not seem right as the post was 2 weeks ago and I have been following the counter daily. I will award it to Poolbum based on the counter and screen shots. Congrats Poolbum and post your name and address and we will get you some awesome stuff.

PM sent Fast Lenny. Thanks to you for all your help as well.

OK, I ran the query against the database and found the exact post that was the millionth post in the main forums. And that post is....

I would say congrats to the person who made that post, but that seems kind of strange considering that it is my site.

So instead, I will just say that I want to thank everyone for making the forums what they are. I never thought the forums would grow to be this big and it is with thanks to all of you that it has.

Mike

Someone told me about this at the DCC. Funny no one, including Lenny, sent me a PM that I was the winner as counted by AZ Mike - the man that owns this site.

What did I win (or not win)?

PoolBum was the one millionth poster according to the public counter. You were millionth according to the server side website database. Lenny was the organizer of the giveway, and as such, has the final say in deciding who won. Clearly he chose to go with the public counter (which the majority seem to agree with). Hopefully you have no hard feelings about this.

If you do, just punch Lenny in the face a few times. He probably deserves it for numerous other reasons anyway. :p

The winner received:

1. Shirt and DVD from www.ontherailtv.com
2. Shirt from www.pooltees.com
3. Perfect Aim DVD from www.perfectaimbilliards.com
4. Right on Cue book by Tom McGonagle www.tommcgonaglerightoncue.com
5. Venom Trickshot DVD from www.runoutmedia.com
6. Do it for The Game by Bob Campbell

Hey Watchez. This was a giveaway to the 1,000,000th poster, when you had posted we were not even close according to the counter which the post Mike showed was 2 weeks before we hit 1,000,000 on the counter. I was going by the counter as was everyone who was posting in the thread. Here is an image of the 1,000,000th post and Poolbums name. I think the database counts all post including deleted ones. If you like I will still send you a care package as I am the giving type of person.

You should send it to me and smoke...we pumped that up and his straggly ass post took home the cheese. I lost an hour of my life on that.

I just want the title of having the 1,000,000th post and I know I can sleep well at night feeling comfortable that my post was a legitimate post not an attempt to bump just to win a contest. - And I don't expect you to double give.

Although if I was wearing an On The Rail T Shirt, Size 3XL (2XL if they run big) it would give more creditbility to your endeavor. :)

When you have 2500+ posts it's okay to bump to win a contest.

I think...........:embarrassed2:
